Transfer rumours - summer 2021 edition

I dont see any way we'd sell Kane on the 31st without being able to get a replacement in.

Agree that our major problem is shifting players, and thats holding up incomings. I'd love to know whether we are ever prepared to subsidise players wages at a buying club such that we can shift them; most of our unwanted players would have to stake a step down in team and/or league to find a buyer, and most of those clubs would be able to afford their wages
Sure we would subsidise wages if it’s a perm move

Getting them in is helpful BUT many on this Forum agree that we need to shift out several ordinary players - Sissoko, Dier, Winks, Aurier, Doherty (the list goes on) and last night's performance added to the need to get some of these out, and get replacements in. But none have gone and the squad only has two new potential first team players - Gil and Romero. The squad needed a major overhaul and that hasn't happened. The pace of our transfers always risks another team jumping in and gazumping us but I agree that it didn't happen with Gil and Romero. My point is that days are going by and the window closes in 11 days time - just can't see major activity before then but am worried that Emirates Marketing Project will cough up £150M on 31st for Harry...
And to those who think Paratici is leading transfer ins and outs I don't see any way on GHod's earth that Levy will leave it to him.

Honestly mate, you need a reality check

- Hart, Lamela, Toby, Cirkin sold, Rose, Bale released, Parrott, Etete, Bowden loaned
- Gollini, Gil & Romero in
- We have had bids accepted by clubs (Kounde example) where the player is waiting on CL options before choosing.

That's all been done weeks before window closes
- Sissoko and Aurier we know are being actively shopped around (Aurier is determined to leave, Sissoko had offers from Middle East but didn't take it)

And you believe that Levy hired the guy who was the DoF for Juventus for pretty much a decade, who I'm sure we are paying a good amount of money for as a "front" because he's still doing the deals in the background?

Are you aware of when we've done that before? Logically we should do, but the difficulty which we've had shifting players before suggests not

The problem we have shifting is down to the players

- Clubs are interested in Winks, he wants to stay to "fight for his place" (can't admit he's not good enough)
- Middle east clubs are interested in Sissoko, he doesn't want to move there
- We could probably shift Harry to a European club but he wants to stay in UK
- Aurier is the same as Rose, Toby and Eriksen were, wants to leave but thinks a bigger club is going to come in for him.
- fudging hell, apparently even Doherty had Wolves interested in taking him back.
- Lamela and Lucas btw have apparently had offers every window

Players like it here, London, good wage, most of the time playing in Europe, why leave? (I don't think subsidizing wages changes any of that)

Think you have nailed that

Would love to know what the thought process was to offering Sissoko a new contract last year.

I would be tempted to offer Winks and Sissoko to Bournemouth for Brooks.

We also got some money in for Foyth as well.

Also something that i hadn't fully realised/appreciated, in total if you include youth players, around 30 players have left the club either sold, loaned out, released or loan not renewed. We're always just focused on the first team but it must a huge amount of effort to organise and run the playing side of a football club.

Remember in a deal all 3 parties will have to agree to it. Buying club, selling club, player. Winks or sissoko would not go to Bournemouth.

I think we’re at a point where putting them in a dating app may work

You may joke, but whatsapp is used a lot in transfers. Advertising players for sale, negotiations etc... People have their phones on them all the time so it's a lot quicker and easier than emails.

La liga has an app that clubs put their financial info into. If they are going over their spending cap it flashes red.

No that doesn’t surprise me at all

No that wouldn’t work.

All that would happen is you will match with them, maybe talk to them a little, but you keep swiping for more matches until something better comes along which won’t take long in their cases:D…..
