What role did Hitchens play in those transfers?

Is he a scout or a negotiator - I have no idea tbh

Bit of everything, he was sent to Italy to secure the Deal for Skriniar, so Levy obviously trusts him to that level.

I’m not sure how much of this lot he has suggested as Lo Celso/Ndombele are Mopo first choices and a large number have been here years.

3 weeks is a short time to turn around a season and a half of neglect to coaching - look at our fitness compared to Leeds today? They looked like they could play another game straight after, we looked like we could barely see out this one
It will take a while (which we don't have this season) to recover from the severe case of Mourinhoitis that Levy infected us with.

The whole squad need an intense fitness camp over the summer. I've not seen us in such poor physical shape since the Ruddock and Van Den Hauwe drinking club days of c.1993.

Didn't we match them pretty well for energy earlier this season? Probably their fitness is better, but it's only a part of the problem imo.

They looked like they played in a familiar system they knew inside out. We looked like individuals running around doing whatever. Makes for a lot more useless running that's rather draining.

Our pressing looked worse than the last time we played Leeds. It's fair on Mason to point out that it takes time to drill a system. It's also fair to point out that Bale being both a liability defensively and unimpressive in attack was at least somewhat predictable.

I was using fitness as an example to highlight the point - regarding coaching, what you mention wrt to knowing the system inside out and difference in pressing are further examples. We haven't played a pressing game all season so not sure what grounds you have to say our pressing game was better last time out? Especially when we took more of a counter attack approach to that game (which worked really well)

Even with a terrible team performance like today’s with a proper centre back instead of Eric Dier we still could’ve got a point or three....

First goal, disgraceful defending, passing the buck. Be a man and attack that ball to clear the danger.
Second goal. tinkle poor header, then standing there with no awareness in the middle of the six yard box doing nothing as his man strolls in to finish it.
Third goal. Zero awareness as he is 3 yards behind his defensive line running back to play their man onside.

There were a catalogue of errors other than Dier’s so the result is on pretty much all of them, but when you have a centre back with so little awareness of where to position himself you will never ever nick undeserved points.

Let's not forget his sloppy passing and those surging runs where more often than not he turned back and played the ball back. I hope Mou still has a little hard on for him as we could spend that money on something more useful, like a chocolate toothbrush.

I don't know, but as you're blaming him i thought you might

Who the hell chose Bergwiyn, NDummy, Lo Celso, Douherty, Clarke, Sessegnon, Rodon, - and before that Moura, Aurier, Sissoko, Sanchez, Jansen , NJai, NKoudou, . . I could go on.

A litany of failure.

Have to say bt concentrating on offside and lamela rabona is way off the mark.
We were brick, and if bale is getting picked in front of me in a game like today why tge fudge should I worry about the team.
Nobody else seemed to give a brick today.
Only Hugo and dele came out of that game with any credit.

We haven't pressed well with consistency for over two years now. That's not going to change quickly, I don't think it will ever change with Gareth Bale in the team.

Disagree on the previous Leeds game, but don't feel like going into that.

Really disappointed, but not surprised, was a big ask today. Unfortunately the job for the summer is even bigger.

Yeah im not commenting on whether these buys were good or not just wondering what has led you to think Hitchens is the one responsible

I thought Moura did well, relatively speaking, when he came on. fudge knows why he cares because he keeps getting tinkled on. He is a bit limited but I can never fault his attitude.
