Jose Mourinho - SACKED

This something i said watching the game yesterday
United didn’t lol good first half. Only had one shot
But their players played in pairs and worked in pairs
Ours didn’t and don’t
So when United did get it together it was easy
Even when we attack our players are all miles apart. So many times we go forward and there’s no pass on as there’s little movement.

All the best team attack in numbers and have patterns of play. Drilled on the training ground. We don’t attack well as a team , we don’t defend well as a team . So what is Jose getting 15 million queens heads for ? Apart from digging out players and polarising the fan base.

Sorry state this club is in.

The way we set up its as if the CM don’t trust who is behind them. Its as if they are man marking their own players at times.

This is what happens when the only coaching that is received is how to drop deep and get men behind the ball rather than attacking plans, possession plans, even tackling plans..

The most ridiculous thing our sitting back tactic is that our weakness is CB....yet by sitting back we're inviting more pressure being put on them. Utterly brain-dead

Indeed, but if that's your only default as a defensive-minded coach then that's what you do and continue to do because you don't know how to do anything else (any more).

Dare i say it that even recent Wenger would be getting more our of this squad?

It's the typical forlorn hope that kills isn't it?
I mean we all hoped Jose would be a success even if many didn't want him...but it has to be clear now to all that Jose is no longer a verified coach of any sort.

We have problems in defence, yes, but we should be have more of a clue in our attacking moves. Since his early Madrid days i think it's been clear to most coaches across Europe that if you drop deep and park the bus against Jose and remain resolute on set-pieces Jose doesn't have a clue as to how to break you down...

I've never seen a set of players that look so uncoached in all my life - Sacramento and the rest of them can sling their hooks too afaic

I do feel hugely disappointed with Sacramento - admittedly based on no knowledge whatsoever other than that getting him was supposed to be a bit of a coup at the time and it felt that we would have a coach with progressive ideas on the staff. Either he's not worthy of the hype at the time of his appointment or his progressive ideas have been smothered by Mourinho's 'tactics'. He's working for Mourinho so I suppose he has to follow the instruction of his boss and as an assistant, how much latitude does he have to influence the style of play or impose his own ideas? It feels like we saw more involvement from him on the touchline during the earlier part of Mourinho's reign, but to be honest, I'd hardly recognise him now. When Mourinho goes (soon, please) you'd imagine the new manager would have his own staff to bring in, so the end of Mourinho will be the end of Sacramento in any case.

Oh goodie.... even more money wasted on settlements to the coaching staff....

Add three new players to this squad and I think Nagelsmann would have a field day. Remember, Skipp and Sessegnon to return too.

All of the talk suggests Nagelsmann is off to Bayern.

We’ll get the Poundland versions, no doubt — Potter or Hasenhuttl...although I’m not at all convinced Jose won’t be here come August.

Hard to see him as someone who will help to move us into the elite bracket - but who knows? I can’t see an appointment like him helping us to hold onto Kane or Son.
I agree with the latter. It’s a worry TBH
But it shows the issue with managers now
Nagelsmann hasn’t won a thing as a manager and has managed in one country for about 200 plus games (so 4/5 years) yet he is one that people would see to be progressive
Potter had managed overseas already for 7 years. He took a small team up two divisions to play in the europa (they beat arsenal away). He actually won a few trophies there too
He then came back to England and almost hit Swansea up
He then went to Brighton and dramatically changed their football very, very quickly.
I watched them smash United this season (the game United won with a penalty after the final whistle. That’s the United side that now have the third best away record in premier league history. mans fo course his Brighton have beaten us twice I believe, comfortably too
But he isn’t a sexy name, he has boring fashion sense and old man hair.
If his name was foreign there would be more clamour for him.

So we let go of Pochettino to end up with Graham Potter... that's depressing.

Anyway, every day i check football news now in the hope we've sacked Jose, though deep down i know it won't happen. He's past it. The game has moved on. He HAS to go now.
See my post above
Potter has done more than Poch had done before we brought him in
It’s the aged old problem of people want a name. We get in the biggest name and he fails because actually what we want is a quality coach

Potter organises and improves players much like Pochetto did.
There is little point in getting the likes of a e.g. Nagelsmann if we haven’t got the funds for transfers.
Allardyce is proving what organisation and footballing nous can achieve, good again last night.

Pochettino wasn't seen as a great coup when we got him. There were plenty of other names mentioned at the time that were seen as a better choice.
