The Fight to Qualify for the European Conference League 2020/21

Show me a team that don't drop points? I will wait

Show me champions that drop points three times from winning positions (6 points) in the last few minutes of games and we are less than a third of the way through the season.
Liverpool haven't done that in over two years but have scored untold last minute winners, that's champions mentality.
We've scored a couple but our ratio is not good , certainly not the ratio of champions.
I can only hope we are going against stats and setting a new trend !

Maybe Jose can have a chat with AVB. He did a great job in stopping us shipping late goals.

We are top of the league?

Points dropped late by

a very dodgy pen
a one in a million shot that went in
a keeper having the game of his life against us

Show me champions that get spanked 7- 1
Or conversely I’d argue a team of champions right now is a team that scored enough, concedes the least and tops the table
And of course it helps if you lead games more than anyone else as a good measure
We have been behind in 2 games... Everton and United, abs United was for about 2 minutes
We have been ahead more than anyone

Liverpool haven't done it in over 2 years??? They did it a little over two weeks against Brighton, letting in a 93rd min equaliser and a couple of months ago they let in another late equaliser (80+ mins) against Everton. We all tend to remember when we let in late goals and forget other teams doing it, but that doesn't mean they don't do it as well.

There's only one thing champions don't do and that is drop more points over a season than their rivals and we haven't done that so far.

All the teams seems to be dropping unexpected points in the league this season. Playing without fans seem to be affecting all the teams, especially at home. It is still too congested near the top of the league. It seems like any team can win the league this season. I think it will only require a low points total to win the league this season.

Most of our difficult run out of the way and we're still in it. We need a bit more quality in midfield now that we'll play teams where we'll have more of the ball. Really difficult to get on the front foot with Sissoko kicking it into his own hands or out for a throw in.

Yes, I agree, although I thought Sissoko was very good again today - and he can do dirty jobs (like shadowing Robertson today, which he did well in the first half). Dele looks ready to go now, he may have a very important role to play in the weeks to come.

Fairly decent run coming up league wise

Leicester (H)
Wolves (A)
Fulham (H)
Leeds (H)
Villa (A)
Sheff United (A)
Liverpool (H)
Brighton (A)

Next couple arent easy at all (and they have the league cup QF in the middle of them) but then from the Fulham onwards we have 5 out of 6 which, on paper, we'd back ourselves to win

It was a brilliant piece of skill by Sissoko! It totally bamboozled their entire midfield, and it set up a good chance.
It was the Sissoko version of the eleastico!

That said, Sissoko was nowhere near his usual self today. He looked out of energy after 10 minutes. Made me wonder if he has had or is about to get some kind of illness.

he looked better when we changed shape, maybe we didn't drill enough on the 442 this week

You were saying?
Champions don't concede more late goals than they score , I doubt thats ever happened , we are now 2 and 4 , that's not going to win you the title unless we are the exception to the rule.
Four times now in a third of a season , we are course for conceding twelve late goals at this rate, and not late goals that don't mean anything and only dent the goal difference, all point dropping late goals and most in the last seconds of the game.
This is surely unheard of , even for teams fighting relegation.
I was talking about Liverpool's last two seasons where all I can remember is them scoring late winners , especially against us!

Who said Liverpool were going to be champions this season ?
They were last season though and certainly didn't get spanked 7-2 and didn't concede last minute goals. Scored quite a few last gasp goals though. And the season before last.
