The Fight to Qualify for the European Conference League 2020/21

Relative to other clubs we've had a good start, certainly much better than anyone could've or would've expected in May/June.

Yes the lost points against Saudi Sportswashing Machine and Wet Spam are annoying, but we're still in a very good position when 1/4 of the season is over with.

I'm very happy, trying to contain that hope and optimism which will inevitably punch me in the face.

I’d say our points total is on par with what I would have of predicted before the season (ish)

Yes, roughly. There were enough banana skins or tough games on paper in the first 7 - Utd away, Everton, Burnley away...and any game really is a risk. That said, anything less than a 4-2-1 record would have been disappointing. Next month will really show where we are - could really do with GLC and Bale being up to proper fitness for them

That win puts us to where I think we would have realistically wanted to be after 8 games, and given who those 8 games were against. Today was a potential banana skin, especially after a EL game so was far from a dead-cert win

But for four points dropped with practically the last kick of the game against the Toon and Spammers we'd be now be out of sight.

On the flip side we won tight games v brighton burnley and now west brom so could be sat with 6 points less than we have - we need to improve our attacking performances against the lesser teams as the West Ham and Saudi Sportswashing Machine results showed how easy it is to throw points away if your opponents are clinical.

Or cheating (on the case of Saudi Sportswashing Machine)
And lucky with a lasts minute goal you have never ever scored before or will again
But I agree with you. Games swing on fine margins

They are a good team who will be a direct competitor of ours this season. Probably relies on them keeping Vardy fit though.
Their an effective team
But today they were bang average in a way Spurs fans would moan
I’ve said it loads but and you come back to it. Their set up is about counter attacking and pace. This season that may be enough. They also don’t have Mahrez but have spread that through their side. I really like the new drench lad at CB
Own who has surprised me is James playing wing back. He can’t defend very well but he is covering a lot of his side. I’m amazed more teams haven’t pinned him back so clearly be is doing something
Today though that penalty was robbery IMO.

You can't have an easy first 8 games and not expect it to catch up with you - that is about as tough a run as you could imagine though.
