Jose Mourinho - SACKED

Bottom line. Was anybody surprised when we lost?

Kane should have not started. But Poch was loyal, we lost, it was hot, penalty and the rest is history or should that be sexy, as we say?

The Lucas should have played upfront on his own in the Champions League final after scoring a hatrick against Ajax playing on the right after Llorente came on upfront take is always weird.

I like it haha

Look for me has has to prove his place and earn his crust, I won’t concede on that, if you sack someone with relative credit in bank who transformed the club and for huge money, if it’s the “special one” the born winner then yeh I do expect more than the average manager.

Yep we have had injuries and suspensions but show me a line up that’s so diminished we couldn’t be competitive? There isn’t one.

I wasn’t expecting him to win either the CL or FA Cup but have expected more than than the two defeats and draw at home and style in which we exited those cups, the lack of adaptability in the games just didn’t smack me as “special”

I’m not sure his demeanour where he sulks on his own on the bench when things go wrong is a particularly good look either.

His appointment sets a high standard so I will judge him on such, that’s what his appointment after the Poch sacking brings, that’s the message sent.

100%

His appointment being a success hinges on him bringing success by way of trophies - that's a long way off from what i have seen so far.

Why would you think playing Moura would mean he’d be up front on his own? Where would you have started Son if you think that line up (Moura for Kane) suggests a loan front man in Moura? Surely all the other games when Kane didn’t start it was Son up front on his own or Son/Moura playing off Llorente?

Poch was the gonad*s, but there’s no need to twist the truth to try and absolve Him from blame (if there even was any in that decision?). I’d have kept Kane for the second half and potential pens personally, but that doesn’t mean I think Poch was automatically wrong. It was a 50/50 call, damned if he did damned if he didn’t.

Sadly Poch promised much and didn't deliver. Yes, some great moments which in some ways exacerbated his lack of more tangible achievement.

PS We will not 'hammer' anybody ATM though, yes we have more fit players coming back.
Poch did promise much, but FOR SOME REASON did not/could not buy a player for two transfer windows. Allegedly, there were several player he wanted to move on that he couldn't. Most people who know the game insist you have to bring one or two new faces in to keep things fresh and keep players on their toes. In my opinion he massively over-achieved, and somehow used the lemons and furniture at his disposal to create the aura that dragged us to a bloody Champs League final (which was a dud from kick off). And gave us that night at the Etihad and THAT night in Ajax. He was magic, you know.

he was a tease

Not surprising to see a better performance last night, we had almost a full squad to choose from ( something Jose has not had before). Now lets see how we go from here and lets hope it gets some of the Jose haters off his back.

Never let reality get in the way of romance.
You think it’s reality that Lucas would have played up front on his own Steff? Where are you playing Son then?

As I said to this last night, Poch was good enough that he doesn’t need these bogus defenses, twisting the reality of the situation.

Errr, no mate.

I was saying he should NOT be played upfront by himself. Modric was pointing out that those who think Lucas SHOULD'VE played upfront are doing so based on the Ajax hat trick when Llorente's presence and contribution were vital (as a CF!). I was one of the only people who believed Kane had to start the CL Final if fit.

Just to clarify; the reality of Moura's (excellent) hat trick is that it came largely with Llorente both on the pitch and helping as the big target man. The romance is that he would've repeated Ajax in Madrid with Llorente on the bench. Nope.

I'm not having one of my better posting days with regards to being clear :D

The post from Modric you quoted directly said that those who wanted Moura to start ahead of Kane expected him to perform the same up front on his own as he did in the semi final.

im saying it’s complete BS that he would have started up front on his own what with Son being in the starting 11!

its classic muddying of the waters when there’s no need for it. It’s a 50/50 decision, maybe Poch got it right and we would have been hammered had Moura started, or perhaps we would have put in a better performance than the poor one we did ?

I’m just calling out the insinuation that starting Moura would have somehow been a ludicrous selection or “romance”!

Still not "entirely" sure what point you're making mate.
IF you're saying that starting Moura as our central striker was a viable option in that game, I don't think so.
IF you're saying simply starting Moura (perhaps playing off Sonny as the central striker) was an option, perhaps.
I am agreeing with Modric that anyone thinking Moura could've started as the central striker based off the Ajax hat-trick is missing the Llorente component.
And finally, I am saying that I always agreed with the decision to start Harry Kane.
