Mauricio Pochettino - Sacked

Agree with most of that, a little surprising to see you say all that, though I commend your honest assessment.

Hope we get a big reaction next week, despite a nagging doubt that things just don’t feel right at all with our coaching set up and that our players are just going through the motions at the moment.

Poch has done an amazing job with sub standard team for a long time (first 3 or so years) .. and I generally give him the benefit of the doubt.

- Now, we have to look at a front of Son, Kane, Lucas and we can't score against brick teams?
- We have lost the defensive solidity of two or so seasons ago.
- Players are being picked no longer by merit (Winks and KWP don't belong anywhere near the lineup right now)
- He's playing half boss, if he's trying to prove a point with Eriksen and Jan, he's failing miserably
- We no longer have a shape, is it a diamond? is it 4,2,3,1? I don't know, and doesn't look like the side knows ..

We just look out of ideas now, not even "hey fudge it, just punt it to front 3 as quickly as you can re Pool"

This squad is very good with two areas giving problems yet we look completely poor against dogbrick opposition .. where is the motivation?

So over a whole season form which would just about keep us up.

I make that 30 points. Still not great, but not relegation form either...

Poch wears this one and the nervous start to the season. He has created the presence and been superb, so really, he cannot afford to project the energy he is right now as it becomes a story and a distraction.

More practically, he either plays his best team or he doesn’t put first 11 players on the bench. Both Winks and Sissoko are currently not on form. Of the two today, Sissoko had more energy and potential purpose with regards to driving at a team who sat two lines deep like they did. Winks, in these situations, is not worth it unless he drives forward.

But it is Poch who has to start effecting a better vibe, as much because he has created a culture of vibe. Thus it is his to own.

His post game interview wasn't great

- Looking for individual brilliance and more aggression?

We shouldn't begin to need individual brilliance against a Steve Bruce Saudi Sportswashing Machine with half their players injured ...

I love the man and everything he has done for us, but this situation is a problem he seems largely behind. It started in the summer attitude-wise; form-wise it started in late January.

I am not at all ready to panic, that would be absurd, but he seems deeply unhappy or aggravated. Hopefully it is temporary and just about football. Hope all is OK with him y’know?
