Iwobi was their best player yesterday and had Trippier on toast in the first half. Once he came off Trippier had a much easier night

And even on a good night, he provides 0 goals and 0 assists. That's my point about him, he just doesn't do anything worthwhile as an attacking player. Ozil might drift through games but he does at least have a track record of creating goals. When you factor in that they pay him £350k per week (!!) then surely the have to use him over a player who creates and scores very little.

Anyway, up to them. Long may their problems continue!

Not difficult to have Trippier on toast, he’s not a very good defender.

Iwobi is average at best.

Great we win and the still someone has to pick on a player, we really should spend £800-900 m and fill the team with the best players in the world then perhaps everyone will be happy, oh hang on we ain't got the money I blame Levy.

Trippier has a habit of losing his man as he ball watches it happened a few times last night in our final third, add to the fact his distribution was very poor and he struggled to contain Iwobi for 58 minutes, it wasn't a great evening for him.
Not his best game but he played his part in helping us to a clean sheet and a rare win at a brickhole where we've won only once in 25 years.

So instead of digging him out how about getting behind him and the team and celebrating our tenth brilliant win in the last 12?

Trippier can defend really well as seen in a lot of games last season

This year he gets turned too easy

Just for the record Alli was miles onside anyway.
Smith sounded like he was really hoping Son’s would be ruled out by VAR too. There was one in the last game that he got wrongly called for when he would have been clean through too, do they let play go on when VAR is in use now as it’s not something you can rectify if it gets blown up incorrectly? (That could have been Alli’s excuse for his booking!)

Spot on. Far too often defences get all the credit, it takes a lot of hard work for players like Iwobi to be ineffective for the whole time they are on the pitch

As a kid on the terraces in the Paxton around 88 I remember a spurs fan getting the whole standing area to quiet down...

He then shouted “how do you make Alan smiths nose a mile long.......... good it in half”

As a 12 year old it was hillarious

It is great to beat Arsenal away to progress to the League Cup semi final. This is a historic win as this is the first time we have beaten Arsenal away since 2010 and the first time we have kept clean sheet against Arsenal away since 1998. Importantly, the last 2 times we beat Arsenal in the Cup competitions, we went on to win the FA Cup in 1991 and League Cup in 2008. Let's hope we will go all the way to win the League Cup aka Carabao Cup this season. We played well and took our goal scoring chances well. We also rode our luck as Arsenal hit the post 3 times.

Credit to Son and Alli for the goals. Good to see Son scoring from one-on-one chance for once ! He took his goal well this time. It was a crucial time to score as Arsenal were dominating the match that time. Similiarly, it was a crucial time for Alli to score our second goal which killed the game off. It was brilliant the way Alli chip the ball into goal. For a while, thought Alli had wasted that chance. Due credit to Kane for assisting Alli with an inch perfect pass. Amazingly, Kane now has 3 assists in his last 3 matches from 3 different competitions. Wish Kane will score goals instead of getting more assists. Apart from the goal Alli too did well to assist the goal for Son with a great pass. Alli also deserves credit for controlling his temper after being hit on the head by a water bottle thrown by Arsenal fans. Thought it was risky not to start with Kane and Lamela but Kane came on to assist our second goal while Lamela came on to help us win this match.

Our midfield had a mixed match. Winks and Sissoko played well in patches but were struggling at times. For some reason, Sissoko were not at his best as he made too many mistakes. Sissoko too was too slow to help our attacks a few times. Similiarly, Winks too made too many mistakes in midfield as well. Fortunately for us, Arsenal didn't make use of their domination in midfield.

Well done to our defence for keeping this clean sheet. Was worried we might struggle without Vertonghen. But Davies did well with Aldeweireld to control our defence. In fact, Davies had an almost perfect match to help us stop Arsenal. Gazzaniga deserves full credit for making a few good saves and also helping to set up both our goals with inch perfect goal kicks. But Gazzaniga should be more alert as he almost gifted Arsenal an open goal when he was too slow to clear the ball in the second half.

It is good to be in the League Cup semi final. But as usual, we have received a difficult draw as we have to face Chelsea in the semi final. Let's hope we will be boosted by this historic win over Arsenal to go all the way to win the League Cup this season.

I thought Iwobi was average personally, couldn’t believe how much Redknapp was raving about him at HT and at the end of the match. Thought I’d missed something, but my Gooner season ticket holder mate who was there text saying (without any prompting) “iwobi terrible again”.
