Looking for reasons why?

Our shakey back 4 is probably the biggest reason. What else? Changing the side, without a steady first team away at the scum is going to expose any weaknesses, and our midfield and defense at the moment has weaknesses if squeezed. More reasons? Well we lost the game after 70 mins, and they had a full week to prepare. We had bigger games that took away some of our fire. Finally the scum are improved, they got us to play in our half and we couldn't thread the ball through midfield enough to take back control. We didn't press as hard (apart from begining of the 2nd) probably due to our many games. They controlled the game and did to us what we'd often do to them under wenger.

The positives? With our resources Poch has done amazing, he will want to punch back after than, and we are still better than the scum I believe. Longer term, with the new stadium rocking vs reading nights at the emirates, we are still in the ascendancy.

I watched the match with some proper supporters - lots of singing and banter on both sides - but unfortunately there were some racist gooner scum. That and losing reignighted a dislike I hadn't felt in a long time. Yids are not perfect, we have plenty of tools, but on the whole we seem to be a classier set of fans. We don't come from a place of entitlement. We didn't start supporting Spurs because of success. As a generalisation we are more loyal and true. Gooners, and I have many freinds who are, don't always have the same unwavering support or dignity. There are plenty of decent goons - was sat next to a couple - but the goon cun1/s in the pub calling Son names and hissing were the pathetic underbelly. I'd be ashamed to be a Goon.

Changing the defence on arguably our most important game of the season may have been a wee bit of a clanger!
even if a player did need resting...the weakness shows and gives the opposition in this game the impetus to win. it,s like having a boxing match with one arm not knowing where to punch.
If we had won this game we would still have been on course with a chance of winning this league. This should have been upmost in the minds of the team? Where's the mental strength? Instead its good old spursie time again!

Anyway..we shall overcome one day...won't we?
we shall definitely overcome.....
Come on you Spurs..

I was stuck listening to the match on Talkbrick today. I swear Nevin must have been co-commentating with a Goon shirt on. Just watched the highlights on MOTD, and while I have a lot of time for Wright - I'm fudging raging! Jonathan Pearce can fudge right off as well!

Bring on the 19th - we need to set things right! clamS!

COYS!

Seems the police arrested a spurs fan who threw a banana at Aubameyang

I hate that guys as he always scores vs us but a banana in this day and age..that’s horrendous
Why? Many people said this was potentially a banana skin game. And so it proved to be. In many ways.

I don't think the banana skin was anything other than an object in some idiots pocket. He's put himself in a world of sh!t though and will be banned for a fair while. Still begs the question though, was it a racist act or stupid choice of missile.

A banana skin isn't much use from a food perspective, which is at the heart of the racial slur.

Anyway we were well beaten. Must be nice to have the option of leaving a 300k a week guy out the squad. We will struggle without a settled class central midfield. If Demble and Wanyama are as finished at it looks we need at least one signing in January which is about 3 weeks away so you'd hope conversations are currently underway. However as we know Levy is probably checking the taps in the new stadium.

Why tie yourself in knots trying to find excuses for the clam? Everyone knows the connotations of throwing a banana at a black player, his intentions are irrelevant.

By "this game" I assume you mean football

He can be very effective and has been of late.

Arsenal did a very good job of closing down our options for passing it out from defence and we struggled to retain possession. Sissoko is not what you need in that situation. It is why Aurier was poor too, he was constantly being caught out of position and his lack of concentration was exposed.

Arsenal executed their game plan very well. I think that we can expect to see more sides try the same.

We don't seem to have any alternative plan when this happens. We just keep playing it short to players that are marked, and play ourselves into all kinds of trouble, again and again.
I find it baffling! Surely you have to expect that, and have an alternative way of playing when that is the case, but it doesn't look like it.

We were tired. Emery has made Arsenal formidable again. These are the two explanations, and it should be clear in a while which was most right.

Don’t know which of them I’d prefer to be true. If it’s fatigue, we’ll struggle against SCBC, Barca and the Xmas ordeal. If the Woolwich are resurgent and we don’t celebrate Arseover this year, even making the CL would be tainted.

Ugh.

Can anyone be sure it was thrown at him and not Ramsey? They aren't the most accurate thing to throw especially when it's just the skin. I'm not defending anyone I'm not sure it has to be a racist action which in the end makes the club look bad.

Why waste time excusing the inexcusable. Whoever threw it is a clam and the only way we can come out if this with any credit is to ban him for life.

When was the last time you saw anyone bring an assortment of fruit as part of a packed lunch to an away game, ffs. It’s not as if they have a greengrocer stall at the Death Star.

We could've just had a bad day at the office

That would be the nicest explanation. Except, if all events are chance, chaos trumps determinism, and nothing can be inferred, we’re wasting our time discussing anything.

See, no good options.

First of all you point out Poch's similarities with Theresa May. Then you basically say that posting here is meaningless. Are you trying to ruin my life?

Legally, without a confession, I don’t see how the police could prove it to be racist act and different to say throwing a coffee cup.

That the club came and out with zero tolerance is credit to Spurs. It’s quite possible someone had just eaten a banana and reached for the only thing to hand, or they planned it as a racist gesture. Either way the club has to set a president and have zero tolerance. Ultimately there was a choice: to throw a banana skin or not, Spurs have to take the required action.
