I think it would help everyone understand the use of VAR if the governing bodies made it clear what the rules or gudie lines for the use of it were. In this world cup we've seen more penalties already than were awarded in the whole of the last tourney, some have been subjective, so no changes there from past games, yet no e have been for the blatant wrestling we've seen in ever match, this may be the authorities are scared of 5 or 6 being given a game, until we know the policy we will still be guessing why somethings are ignored.

another example! it just doesnt work for football.

that shouldve been a red card as well as a penalty.

fifa are creating a huge problem - because they have introduced var, theres absolutely no hiding now from the fact that "slightly" pushing opposition players is totally ok now

It wasn't a VAR decision. Decisions like that go either way in every game, so it is hard to argue that it was an obvious error by the ref and the VAR officials should have alerted him to it.

Well as i said you must not get out much as i hear it at most games i attend. And their is a lot more life outside of here and i never said anyone on here said it.

Listen mate you have your thoughts on this and i have mine, we disagree no big deal. To be honest i have no idea how many members have posted in this thread ( and i have no desire to search that out), but even you must admit it is a small number compered to the crowds that talk about VFR ( at, during, after) games and i can assure you i have heard it said many times.

But as i say we are never going to agree over this so i see not point going around the houses on what at the end of the day is just opinions.

it was a clear and obvious foul. var shouldve picked it up when the ref didnt. its obviously a huge and clear error - how can it be otherwise when a striker bearing down on goal is pulled back?

it should stop all obviously bad decisions. but it wont/cant. because for that to happen the way football is fundamentally played has to change. thats why the introduction of var was a bad idea - var (in its current form) is just not compatible with football

It's a bit difficult to respond to conversations that you have away from here. On here no one has made the point you are arguing against.
