It's a peculiarly British obsession, in many countries it will just be given to the most senior player.

I think that the other thing that we need to consider with Lloris is that we play a high line and he is instructed to come out. This enables us to compress play which helps our pressing and attacking game but it does mean that the keeper will be under more pressure and the odd mistake will happen.
