Saido Berahino

On a local paper it was all about how much advertising space was sold the rest was just fillers and before the internet and mobile phones.
I believe you, and I just realized you lived in a totally different world from my company when we're talking about planning the next day's newspaper :)

How much is left of the 48 hours? I'm ready to get Berahino on the back of my new replica kit.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out we'd be interested in Berahino.

He's young, English, fits the potential pace upfront/wide forward option that Poch is looking for in the squad, with a goal-record that is only just behind our own Harry Kane's. Plus he plays upfront with Kane for the U21's, so there's a ready-made proven partnership there. So I can see why Poch wants him.

He's on low-wages and so we can afford to go big on the fee, because the overall deal to sign him is likely to be easily accommodated, even if the fee exceeds £20m. We could double his wages at West Brom and he'd still be a low-earner in our current structure.

Liverpool have bought their forward options and I doubt the top 4 will consider Berahino a serious rival to their other planned targets, so we would likely have a clear run at him in terms of competition, which means Levy will be able to get West Brom's balls in a vice and squeeze the fee.

No wonder its gathering momentum in the press. I would be surprised if we didn't end up signing him.

The funny thing about this story is that apart from various media outlets repeating the original story that Berahino will be done in 48 hours there is absolutely nothing else to the story. They have not even bothered to make up anything else, just the fact that it will be done in 48 hours. So this is what passes as journalism in this day and age.

So sad. Being a journalist myself, I find it depressing to see what's happening to my profession.
