*** OMT Spurs vs Milan ***

yep...a bit odd,he played a cracking through ball in the World cup...I think he needs to take a look at his game carefully and work out what he's doing wrong. He is very weak when receiving the ball.. loses it too early!
It's because of the way we play. He always receives the ball with his back to the goal, and often two players pressing him. That's the weakest side of his game. Son needs to be played into space, but we never get to do that. And because he always receives the ball in his weakest position, and loses it, his confidence drops and drops and drops, so if he somehow gets the ball with space to run, his low confidence keeps him from doing what he's best at. It's a vicious circle.

20 years old, new team in a new country and he takes his chance like he’s born into it. We might have a hell of a player on our hands.
Definitely looks a good prospect but needs to be protected. Still too young to play week in week out imho. I remember thinking the same of Sandro when he started and then we broke him.

Interesting never thought of it like that.

I get that they are better defenders. But we lose the attacking impetus that Hojbjerg gives us. He weighs in with goals and it's not like the attack is coming from many other places. I think Skipp and Sarr for every match will be too negative. Anyway just my thoughts.
Disagree, the passing from both (especially Sarr) is better than what PEH gives. PEH has scored 10 in 130 games for us, he doesn't give goals.

Yup, made the point too a few weeks back.

As I said in another thread I think Hojbjerg is a little under rated on here which is a shame. I think he contributes more to attacks than he does defensively. Maybe it's not an accurate reflection of what is actually happening given the stats. But he does seem to weigh in on the attacking side.

Well , not a disaster which it could easily have been if they scored from the two late sitters. Our attack is just not functioning. Son and Kulu were appalling. Our crossing from numerous deadball opportunities was ptgetic - what are we paying the dead ball specialist coach for? I haven't noticed a jot of improvement. Our movement is static, no one attacks the ball and no one comes in round the back.

We are just so predictable. Really boring football with no cutting edge. It is scandalous how we are wasting the two bright attacking talents we have. It's all down to Conte's tactics and I have had enough as I really can't see things getting better. Porro was his main requirement in the window and we busted a gut to get him. It looks like the bloke can't defend. Is he another waste of money? Time will tell but the omens don't look good.

Conte needs to start delivering now. We have the opportunity to put a run together. Will he grasp it?

I sadly don’t think so.

I would probably ignore any time spent under Mourinho in his stats considering that he had our midfield largely playing on the edge of our own box. What are the stats under Conte, or better still the stats for this season?

That still won’t change people’s minds
I remember showing pass maps of winks and his forward passing but people said it didn’t represent what they saw with their own eyes… can’t win on some arguments

Glut?

Bentancur - yes
Bisouma - rarely starts
Sess - is crap
Lloris - form is awful

Who else of consequence?
Unfortunately that's too many , why ?
Because we still have a paper thin squad. Paper thin on quality.
As Conte said , it was a miracle we didn't get any injuries last season ( like the goons this season) and that enabled us to nick top four.
