**** OMT Arsenal v Tottenham Hotspur ****

100% agreed, we ALWAYS lose at their place it’s just usually with an even more inept embarrassing performance!

Hugo’s fudged us today and Royal’s just added the icing on the cake. We were very comfortable at half time, but just didn’t get out of the dressing room 2nd half.

Arsenal always start the half’s fast against us
We know that
We should have done better
Hugo doesn’t fudge up and it’s potentially very different

Surprised Hugo started as I expected him to miss out through injury. Played like it was still troubling him, unbelievable how the ball squirmed through his arms for the 2nd goal.

And yes, Conte has dropped an absolute clanger today. We were warned he was stubborn as all hell, and so it's proven - he will stick with a system unless shocked into changing it by an absolute collapse.

Today should hopefully be the wake up call he needs. Emerson is useless, yes - he deserved a better right back in the summer than Djed Spence, a Champo kid. But he has to work with what he has, he has to account for that, and he has to get us playing a lot better.

We have to retain possession, we have to exert control, and the 3-5-2 is ideal for that. We looked great playing it against Leicester. He went back to the 3-4-3, and while we looked dangerous in chunks, the Goons outplayed us pretty comprehensively.

Go back to a 3-5-2. Send Emerson to the reserves, stick with Doherty, Perisic and Spence for the rest of the season. Change. It. Up.

This Mourinho-lite flimflam has to end.

As for his other clanger, again, he is stubborn to the point of collapse. We went 2-1 down, a man down, and he spent 10 minutes fiddling with his subs while Rome burned. 2 subs? 5 subs? 4 subs?

We conceded another, and then he finally threw on his jumble of changes. Not good enough.
There was nothing wrong with the system today, problem was Sons passing was brick again (others also had some poor passes) and cost us when putting players clean through on goal.
We should've gone in ahead at half time. Then we shot ourselves in the foot with Lloris and a terrible reffing decision for the red card.

At the risk of being ridculed and its not knee jerk unless you count this season as knee jerking but I'm really starting to feel in games we aren't favourites for we need to have one of Kane or Son starting, as they offer nothing off the ball but would thrive as the game opens up. Unless we make tweaks that enable us to control the game so they are involved more in an offensive capacity.

Son destroyed every break we had, three goals came from the left and yet royal and hugo getting the critical comments.
Wierd.

This system flourishes on the opposition not taking advantage of their possession deep in our half.

Conte seemed totally shell shocked in his post match interview. He could not answer the serious questions.

We're set up to stop them getting any decent chances. We didn't give up any quality chances first half. They scored a great goal.
Their second was terrible keeping and the third was against 10 men.
Leaving partay all alone was a quality chance and a fine finish. I don’t think that allowing the oppo to play the ball around our box isn’t a risky strategy. Someone will hit a peach, a shot will be deflected, the keep will parry one to the middle of the box and not gobble up the rebound. If you press higher, they’re further away from the goal. It’s simple geography.

Yeah really strange the two players who threw costly clangers are getting criticism

And son didn’t? Killing ever attack he was involved in?
Peh ball watching as players went past him!

Hugo, fair enough, mistake, but i really can't see how that was a red for royal, you can't legislate for tge ref doing that.

And every other side realises that - no top side defends like we do, and they're not all macarons for choosing those approaches that give them possession and keep their opponents away from their goal.

We have macarons like Emerson and players liable to drop a clanger like Dier and Lloris at the back. It is inherently more risky to play like we do than it appears.
