Mauricio Pochettino - Sacked

It's quite funny that whenever there is a manager vacancy at a "big club", all the media and pundits point to Pochettino as the best. But when talking about Spurs it's "he's doing a good job, but he hasn't won anything."
Peculiar.

Yeah, good point, was given a C grade wasn’t he?

Was Poch any less of a punt?

United didn’t want him when they went for van Gaal.

He has as much to thank Levy for as the other way around imo.
Of course he was but it took a good few managers before we got the right one, hence why it’s a punt. We gave him a platform for sure, but it’s the way the football food chain is - like it or not we will always be below Real Madrid, Barca, Man U etc even when they are going through tough periods. That being said I still don’t think he will be going for a good while yet but let’s see....

They still won't be happy when it does nothing to kill the story. Levy is right to rarely talk to the press, can anyone think of a chairman who has enhanced his reputation by having a high public profile?
The porn twins?? Ohh wait, that's not right is it?

Poch has built on the work of AVB, who built on the work of Redknapp, who built on the work of Jol.

Of course it hasn’t been all good all of the time but I think it’s disrespectful to Levy to suggest that Poch is the end of the line.

It’s not just the right one, it’s the right time.

True, and also possible that a new manager would do even better. But what Poch has is hunger, hunger for success, hunger to push himself and the players. Would the Ancelotti's of the world have that desire in their belly, or would it be just another big pay packet?

Their expectations are that United compete. Jose, with his hundreds of millions spent, couldn't even manage that.

It's not a high bar to meet - they're not demanding the title every season, and no doubt they will temper their expectations even more if Poch arrives, given that he'd have to undo the work Mou did in the first place.

As for their youth team, you've sort of summed it up - they can just improve their youth team by poaching the best youngsters from across the country. Hard to see that as a negative.

Honestly mate you may not know a huge amount of united fans living a distance away (I’m sure you know international fans) but in Bedford (still miles from OT) the fans I know expect everything now... it’s united (don’t forget “lads it’s Tottenham”)

This is a club that has modern history in winning everything

Their current demise reminds me a bit of AC Milan... best club in the world for a long time and now bang average

They could poach youth but they did that with Pogba and look how that turned out. And that was under fergie

They do have 2 too kids coming through, the lad they signed from Holland and the one that got the hat trick vs Chelsea yesterday

Replace who?

poch IMO isnt going anywhere

The gutter press have to sell papers and even a lot of then when they get interviewed back track on their poch going logic

Probably but for arguments sake who would Levy look at?
No one comes to mind that I can think of?

I’d be surprised if we went that route, far more likely another undervalued talent.

If Poch goes, I want us to try for Simeone.

I know, I know -- boring, defensive. But wins! And we'd never lose to Arsenal again.

Phuck Eddie Howe or some muppet like that.

Hopefully Poch stays, but if Utd make him a serious offer, I think he would take it.
