Monaco isn't a race, its a procession.

Its pretty, but a race its not.

uhhhh have you seen how hard they push around those tight streets, how close they come to walls? how millimetre precise they have to be? procession! hah! you're having a laff mate..

heres what you do: watch the documentary "senna" and see the on board footage of him pinning it around monaco, then see if your views change.

Sorry, but that's simply not true

The margin for error is absolutely minimal while the cars are pushed as much as they are elsewhere resulting in a constant gamble with the side-walling

The 'track' isn't one for over-taking but I can guarantee you it is very much competitive and generally one of the more dramatic races in the calendar

He was doing in 25 years ago in a car with safety equivalent to that of a supermarket shopping trolley with a 1200 bhp engine strapped to the back of it - and he still pushed it to the fudging washers. Balls the size of New Zealand

Today's drivers have a rigid ****pit cage, HANS, better helmets, safer cars, etc.

Makes you think

Financial reasons mostly

'Least' profitable races can alternate or fall out all together since the calendar can only accommodate so many rounds and no-one can match the Middle / Far East in terms of firepower

The lack of overtaking opportunities make it less special IMO. There was no need for Webber to change his tyres because his lap times could've tumbled and he'd still win.

Yeah, got to agree Yiddo. Tremendous amount of skill and concentration to get around Monaco, but it's a snore fest unless the rain comes down.

I swear the FIA sent a memo out to the teams to talk about the rain coming in order to keep people watching.

Even Brundle said in commentary regarding the tweets they were getting that Monaco has always been a procession.

Should have been in the Garden, drinking beer chilling on the lounger.

ah Monaco! looks amazing, boats in the harbour, stars on the track, beautiful women everywhere and the famous Casino. So technically hard for the drivers, they have to be on it the whole race or a crash will happen.

But for us Spectators it is the most boring race of the season. Emphasized by the fact the only overtaking was done in the pit lane and that Button could not get past a Caterham.

What a dramatic race with an old-skool podium to match - and it didn't rain a drop!

Surely this time it wasn't Hamilton's fault though? Although even if Maldonado is given a grid-drop - too little, too late

As for Button and Massa - oh dear..

F1 test driver Maria De Villota has lost her right eye as a result of her accident yesterday, her team Marussia have confirmed

So - Vettel demoted with 20 seconds on top of moaning about Hamilton's moves (which were mostly team tactics, imv) - all I can say is - cry me a river!
