Would be a great lead out for him, Van de Poel showed this year what a great lead out can do.

Possibly even Thomas if he wanted to focus more on the classics as his swansong.

I am in Florence for the first stage next year (in Florence in a few weeks as well actually) and Nice for the last stage which is a team time trial.

Like I said mid tour, I think that's a mistake*, but I want him back for one more year.

*Can't just ride the tour, he'll need to give it a proper full gas season from the classics onwards to have any chance of finding form in July.

Think he is sponsored by the people who organise the Tour of Arabia used to be Oman etc. Could see him doing that and his 6 day track racing again in the winter.

Combine that with the 17 year old Welsh kid they just signed who beat wout in a time trial. Ineos have a bright future.

If it wasn't for that gear issue he could've broke the record and gone out on a high this year. Getting injured like that was brutal. Glad he's giving it one more go. I think I heard they have signed a quality lead out man for next season too which should boost his chances
