Anyone watch Black Mirror? I like it but it's a bit depressing at times. No one at the start of the episode ends up any better off at the end of the episode. Why does every film or tv show set in the future always paint a bleak picture of the future? Must know something we don't.

it’s human nature, “civilisations aren’t murdered, they commit suicide”, we’re bound to fudge it up

I quite liked the first episode, the pig thing, but the treadmill episode was just utter garbage. Stopped watching after that. :p

Twin Peaks The Return started off well, but is a bit of a snore five episodes in. So slow.

Thats kinda the point of the show, to paint a picture of where our over-reliance of technology is leading us...

2 episodes in to the 4th series myself - the Star Trek episode was good i thought but the Arkangel episode felt like it had been done before in previous episodes.

5 episodes in to Inside no.9 which is on Netflix anyone that hasnt seen it - worth a watch, similar kind of vibe to Black Mirror but more dark humor/horror than scifi.

Just started watching The Americans. It's been around awhile, but I missed it before now.
Really enjoying it so far. Basically Russian spies living in America, as an American family in the early 80s.

Yeah I get that it's a warning of where we could end up if we misuse technology, the technology in itself isn't necessarily the problem.

The Star Trek episode was very good.

It's a very watchable show but also quite depressing, couldn't watch more than 2 episodes in one sitting. The episode which exposes the paedophiles was a bit pointless and touched on a similar theme to the White Bear episode.

The best episode in my opinion is San Junipero.

Just started watching 'The man in the high castle' on Amazon. A bit of a slow start, but it's picking up. I quite like the background plot, and I'm curious to see how it unfolds.

If anyone don't know what it's about, it's set post WWii in the USA, but the Germans and Japanese won the war, and USA is divided into the Japanese pacific state in the west, and part of the German Reich in the east, with a neutral 'wasteland' in the middle. Quite facinating
