OMT ***Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester United***

I am concerned that Poch will try to cover for the power and work of Kane... by playing Sissoko in a fairly advanced role to break at United and charge around a bit. He is not my favourite player.

I too could see a strange formation like 370 or 361 and a stale game.

-------------Lloris--------------
-----Toby--Sanchez--Verts----
Aurier Dembele Dier Davies
-------Eriksen Alli-----------
---------Llorente-----------

Get Rose on for a half in place of Davies, Sissoko and Son for Dembele and either Dier or Alli depending on the game.

That's still a pretty decent line up for the Harry Kane team. Man for man we're better equipped than United.

2-1 to Spurs

We can score goals without Kane, as the game v wet spam showed - having our strongest backline personnel will also give us as best a chance of keeping manyoo out as ever, I pity Foyth getting exposed, Davies wasn't in top form.

It'll most probably be a draw, but I hope we can nick it - we are learning to give up possession, soak up pressure, and getthe killer punch if we need to. But we can be expansive if we need to - I know we don't get overloaded from middle to back as showed at Madrid.

Sissoko up against Fellaini could make this game a treat for the purists

Unless there are injuries/illnesses we don't know about I doubt it. Starting Sissoko means leaving out two of Dier, Dembele, Winks, Son and Llorente. I just don't see it as a good choice or a likely choice from Pochettino.

The club has officially said he's missing tomorrow, so I'm assuming he's not named in the squad for the match? I'd be very surprised if he featured.

I'm thinking United will play a more open game today. They will have Herrera set out to mark Eriksen out of the game and to nullify our metronome.

United will think that with that setup, and no Kane, that if they get a goal, we will find it hard to keep with them.

ManU are the team who have affected us the most on and off the field in the PL history. Apart from stealing our best players like Sheringham, Carrick and Berbatov, they have also cheated and humiliated us many times on the field, badly affecting our morale. Who can forget the Mendes' wonder goal against them in 2005 which was not given to us, despite it crossing the goal line by a few miles. ManU are responsible more than any other team of destroying our progress as a team team during this PL era. We once had a shyte record against ManU as well. But the legendary AVB changed our luck and mentality when he led us to beat ManU away for the first time since 1989 in 2013. Sherwood did well to beat ManU away the following season as well. Disappointingly, since Pochettino took over, our record at ManU went back to being shyte again, losing all 3 matches there since then, conceding 5 goals and scoring none. Pochettino has done well to beat MaU at home for the last 2 seasons but he still owe us a win at ManU. Let's hope Pochettino will get us to beat ManU away this time.

We are going to miss the injured Kane badly. It is really a bad timing for Kane to get injured at this time, just when we are facing touch matches against ManU and Real Madrid. Others like Son, Alli and Eriksen did well to get us the goals when Kane was injured last season. Hope they will step up this time as well. Alli has scored in his last 2 matches for us. We will need him to continue his goal run. Still not fully convinced of Llorente who has not looked like scoring a goal since joining us.

I think this match will be won or lost in midfield. Our midfield has been inconsistent since Dembele and Wanyama got injured. Still not fully convinced of Dier and Winks in midfield but need them to step up their game if they start. Sissoko has done well in his recent matches, scoring 2 goals. If he can improve his finishing, I think Sissoko will be our secret weapon against ManU. Eriksen scored for us when we last beat ManU away in 2014. Hope Eriksen will get a goal or two this time as well, especially from freekicks.

We will need our defence to be at their best in this match. Can see Lloris, Vertonghen, Alderweireld and Sanchez being busy in this match. They will need to concentrate all the time and avoid any silly mistakes. We have not kept a clean sheet at ManU since 2005. It will help us greatly if we can stop them scoring this time.

It is going to be a tense match. It will help us to settle down if we can get an early goal. Without Kane, we will need someone to inspire us in this match. Hope we will turn up with the right team and mentality to beat ManU and stay in the title race.

I don't think we name a squad until the line up is submitted an hour before kick off.

It might very well be that he hasn't been training and hasn't even traveled to Manchester.

I would be a bit surprised if he started. But I wouldn't be shocked.

I think you might be right.

Their one point strategy at Anfield followed by a loss against Huddersfield has Mourinho in a bit of a pickle. With City playing WBA later today a draw possibly sees United (and us) 7 points behind City. That's a significant lead to give away at this point, and it's not like United can claim to have had the easier fixture list either.

In a way playing for the draw is accepting that the title is City's to lose. That might not be a bad strategy all things considered, but it's a huge thing to "admit" to the fans at this point.

Will be interesting to see what Mourinho does. A more open game probably suits us.

Everybody dance now!

Wish we can have all our best players available for this match, especially Lamela. We can really make use of Lamela's tenacity and creativity in midfield. Now we need all the available players to step up their game in this match. Let's hope we will make use of our chances and be ruthless in front of goal to get all the 3 points against ManU.

We'll find it tough without Kane, I reckon. Mourinho is a tricky bastard. I think we'll see a similar match to what we saw at Old Trafford last year, sadly, we'll lose. I'm basing that prediction solely on a bad gut feeling I have about this game - might be due to a beer too many yesterday and having to get up at 6 this morning. :p

Any adorably cute photos of animals yet ?

Would be good to have Lamela back as another option but since he's been out, we've changed to 3 at the back, and its more or less been a resounding success. I think he's far from guaranteed a starting spot when back, and the team has progressed a lot in the time he's been out. If we have Dier/Dembele or similar in CM, and then Dele, Eriksen and Kane ahead of them, then he doesn't play in our best 11. Obviously with the volume of games he'll get some starts and time off the bench but those I just mentioned are ahead of him, plus Winks and Son will get a lot of game time. He'll nee to (re)prove his worth to the team
