The Squad

Contracts expiring before 2019:

Arsenal: Sanchez, Ozil, Cazorla, Giroud, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mertesacker, Gibbs,

Tottenham:
People say the Goons have to tie up Sanchez and Ozil to longer term deals, or they will slide down the table. Yet Ozil does nothing and was awful last time out. Really it is Sanchez keeping them afloat. Phuck the rest of them rats.

Yep. Tie up Sanchez to a better deal and fudge the rest. Maybe Giroud too, the French clam. He is more effective than he is given credit for.

Our starting 11 for each PL game so far this season :

Likely to be different again tonight with both Walker and Vertonghen back from suspension. That plus the competition between Dembele, Dier and Wanyama for a maximum of two DM slots (not to mention Winks) and Sissoko and Son vying for the wide mid berth, with Lamela also not far from a return, means it may still be a while before we see the same team sheet two games in succession.

But, so long as we keep winning, who gives a monkeys?

What's key with those stats around the team changing is that due to injuries and suspensions we have lost key players at various times

These are players that have now had the benefit of a brief mini break through to months off in some cases like Toby and Harry

It can only help with the latter part of the season

Eriksen, Rose & Wanyama are my concerns over long season, we have to figure out how to rest/rotate them.

Hopefully none play in the Villa game and most of early cup games.

Poch seems to have found another formation with 3 CBs that the team are fully comfortable with, if we have the right personnel.

The next step now is for Poch to rotate effectively and have a system that can keep us being effective and be able to get the best out of the players who are more 'squaddies' atm.

Like others have said, we need to keep the likes of Rose, Walker, Eriksen, Alli, Kane as fresh as possible and not burn them out.

I'd like to see more of N'Koudou, Sissoko and Janssen used in our FA Cup game and also in games we are leading by at least 2 in the last 20 mins.

Hopefully this sunday, Winks and Onomah can start in the same team as well.

I think we'll go back to 4231 when we play squad players in the cup. Something like:

----------------vorm
trippier----ccv------wimmer----davies
----------onomah----winks
---son--------sissoko------n'kodou
--------------janssen

I would go with 3-5-2 against Villa and try to utilise gametime for Wimmer/CCV/Winks within the system as a priority.

--------------------Vorm-----------------------

-----CCV------Alderweireld------Wimmer-----

--Trippier------------------------------Davies--

-------------Dembele---------Winks------------

--------------------Sissoko----------------------

--------------Janssen---------Son--------------

A complete reserve back 3 could be CCV----Wimmer----Davies (Davies plays on the left side of a back 3 for Wales iirc).

My squad for next season:

Lloris, Vorm

Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Dier, Wimmer, Carter-Vickers, Davies

Rose, Walker, Trippier

Wanyama, Dembele, Winks

Dele, Eriksen, Son, Lamela

Kane, Janssen

Sell: N'Jie, Sissoko
Loan: N'koudou, Onomah
Buy: Sessegnon and a new young defensive midfielder.

I would totally agree with buying Sessegnon but I don't see the need for a Midfielder centrally unless they are going to vastly improve what we have. Dier and Winks are both already there along with Dembele and Wanyama.

For me, we need to buy an adaptable forward who is going to be sufficient quality that he isn't coming just to be a back up to Kane but a player that can take his place or play with him. I think buying Janssen is all well and good and he may yet work out to a degree but we see the drop off in quality when Kane doesn't play. I personally would go for Lacazette, even it meant due to funds that he was the only player we signed. He is the right age and profile, he has scored over 20 goals every season including this one since 2013/14 and has shown his consistency in a broad manner. He can also be utilised in the wide right forward role meaning we aren't so unbalanced on that side as opposed to the left hand side in depth.

If there was anyway in which we could afford it and I don't know if it would be feasible but signing Lacazette and Isco would give us two genuinely top class players who would be gettable at better prices than normal given the fact they have 2 years and 1 year left on their contracts. I think they could be signed for under or around £50m combined. We have around £16m coming in from the Bentaleb deal, Fazio is going for around £4m and I would probably sell Davies too to make a bit of space if we were buying Sessegnon. That should bring in around £30m overall which obviously helps when it comes to future purchases.

Sell: Bentaleb, Fazio, Davies

Buy: Isco, Lacazette and Sessegnon

Loan: Onomah, N'Koudou/N'jie (keep one for the squad)

I like your logic as the signings

Lacazette would be gettable and he will be off this summer

I really want sessegnon though as he is similar to rose whilst still needing to learn
