I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. It did look suspicious, but its possible to lose your calm. I'm sure it's happened to all of us playing football. I also thought it was a very harsh yellow card as he didn't actually do anything. I didn't know that running in an aggressive manner was a bookable offence.

I think so too. He lost out to van Dijk for the goal today, but it was difficult for Vertonghen. Van Dijk was coming in at speed whilst Vertongen was standing still, and Van Dijk also put his arm on Vertonghen's shoulder holding him down..
Should have had one earlier when he put his hand across Rodriguez's (?) face.

Was Van Dijk supposed to be Vertonghen's player?.... I don't think he was the one picking him up for Southampton's other set pieces.
