Nabil Bentaleb

Eriksen/Lloris who get stick when the team doesn't play well, as well as everyone else ..

Midfield has fallen on its face recently, Bentaleb's form is part of that ..

Bentaleb was average at best today I suppose, but he's been good in recent games.

When was the last time Eriksen and Lloris had what you would call good games?

Wasn't his best game by a stretch. He was, indeed, very average. Perhaps a World Cup-half season-ANC-second-half season is finally catching up with the young man.

Would be about time... ;)

He's been extremely consistent for his age in that position. One of the first names on the team sheet most of the season and we should look to build around him again next season.

A summer break will surely do him some good.

Surprised not much has been said ..

What a footballer the kid is ... slotted in to LB and looked like he belonged, defensively good, also always made himself an outlet going forward.

Great season for him, hope gets a rest, then kicks on next season.

Brilliant again...

Will miss watching him play (competitive) football over the next 3 months. So much talent and so much immediate ability. Loved how he kept besting the Everton players in ever situation towards the end, was just untouchable.

I must admit I was suprised seeing him at LB, but what a performance... Mature, good one-on-one, clever with the ball, good passing, reading the game very well.... Just brilliant, this boy has a big future. My MoM by a mile!

I'm surprised that his quality isn't recognised by more people. At the start of the season, I wasn't sure about him but now I have no doubts. The guy is quality.

Hard to believe he's only 20!!!

Continues to boggle my mind...

The way he deals with those under pressure situations, such a repertoire to do it with too. Quick pass to relieve pressure, hold players off with strength, burst of pace to move into space, pure skill to skip past someone... Never flustered, always composed.

Absolutely top talent.

Will probably pass under the radar just enough this summer (with top teams knowing Levy's reputation). Wouldn't be surprised if there's big interest from truly top clubs next summer though.

The guy is undoubted quality, but I still have doubts about his DM pairing with Mason.

From what I have read, it appears Dembele playing the deeper role with Mason more advanced, looked a better pairing today. I like Dembele and think we ( usually ) play better with him in the team. He also makes more room for Eriksen to express himself.

My conclusion from this is that Dembele ( or a new dedicated DM ) would be better paired with either Bentaleb or Mason. The Mason - Bentaleb pairing just isn't strong enough with both seemingly confused with their exact roles when playing together in the middle.

They did ok against Arsenal, but I understand your view. I think that Dembele has played an improved season in compared to previous years, in spite of what feels like his reduced appearances. I think we almost need a central three of Dembele, Mason and Bentaleb. That then leaves the question of who misses out from Lamela, Eriksen and Chadli, thankfully that's not my question to answer.

I will recommend the same as ElGuepardo, playing with three at the center even if Mousa leave. Mason and Bentaleb will appear in better shape with Anchor man.

I would go with a three also - bit can't see it as we would need to sign a lot of players to cover for those 3

As far as who would drop out - whoever isn't performing, make them battle for it

I have been saying the same all season and I really believe we have to make changes in that department if we are to progress.

He reminds me of Carrick. So many good touches, awareness of what is going on around him and cultured on the ball. But he is the man that feeds the guys that assist. So he goes a little un-noticed to a certain degree. Is obviously quality and I think he could do more if played further forward. Maybe Dembele should sit and it should be one of Benteleb or Mason?

I mention him as my fave player of the season to many non-Spurs colleagues and they are baffled. There has been zero hype in the media about him. I honestly struggle to see why. Poch gets it clearly. Hope we get him tied down to a long deal before the hype starts and I am sure it will. The kid is a star in the making.

He's not English.

He doesn't play for Arsenal, ManU or Liverpool.
