ITK Thread

I meant that 2 is too many, rather than 3 (i.e. I'm less concerned about Friedel's role as #3).

Every time you have 2 who believe they should be first choice it causes trouble - Thorstvedt-Walker and even Lloris-Friedel (though both behaved very maturely) spring to mind.

For me your 2nd GK needs to be an oldy, a youngy or a lower level journeyman.

Hmmmm - what about Cudiccini at Chelsea and then our place?

Vorm is not going to expect to be first choice over Lloris.

I think you're over-thinking this... if Vorm agrees to come to Spurs it'll be on the understanding that he's #2, and he'll be happy with that. If not, he won't come. The guy's not a total fool and there's no way Spurs would be lying to him and suggesting that Lloris isn't undisputed #1. He'll get game time in the cups and will have to stay sharp and be ready to step in should Lloris get injured. I can't imagine a situation where that wouldn't be spelled out plainly in the negotiation process.

jasper:

I do not believe we have bid officially as yet with Griezmann. I can always be wrong, but agents having a field day with the media. We all seem to believe we are interested and that may be the case. Let's wait and see. That's what I have heard for what it's worth or not.

storts:

Yeah, BD is done, just waiting on other things to fall in to place.

hertyid with an update :

I'm told both done now. Assume something will be announced later this week.

this refers to his itk re a young central defender (probably lascalles), and its thought the other one is davies

Here's a tip for the ITKs, it probably a good idea to be hinting that we are looking to close the signing of a young promising CB.

Jasper:

Best to down play everything so squad morale not damaged is my take. What I believe is targets not/never changed. Bids in with some accepted. Only when there is a problem will we consider other options. I expect to see a deal (eventually) with J Rodriguez of S'ton, subject to med records etc. If not now then January, and there are talks going on surrounding Morgan Schneiderlin. Hope it develops to accepted bid. S'ton in difficult position as few players aside the obvious all want out which makes things difficult with the ones already sold.

Seems so, did they just massively put themselves into a financial situation that required a fire sale? or did they sell a vision that no one believes now?

The visionary moved on to Spurs. It appears those who believed in the vision are looking to follow.

Jasper on Konoplyanka:

We have tried/trying, very complex deal to do if it can be done under our regulations.

ali z:

on griezmann: trying to get info on this but hitting a brick wall.

on leaks: not everything leaks out, funny how our club works for example my info is that we have Signed Vorm, Davies and Lasalles but nothing has been confirmed. Also that we want a LWF, CH and Schniderlin. That siggi is gone and we have bids on the table for 4 other players who may be sold if we get our targets.
Nothing on your man [Griezmann] than though.

on outs: Kaboom going nowhere, bids are for full backs and midfielders.

on cb's: Verts likely to sign new deal but won't hang around if we don't succeed. Kaboom has to prove fitness and Daws will be off, Chirices still unproven.

We are run like a business, basically we've put 4 employees on 45 day consultation of redundancy, if we decide to keep them we will all be moaning about lack of effort next season

Interested as to what the alternative would be here?

The visionary wasn't Poch, it was Cortese.
He is the man I would like to see on the Board taking the strain from Levy.
After he fell out with the heir to the Liebherr empire and left, many like Poch and Louvren lost faith.
Saints fan at work gutted at the thought of not "being able to dream" as players being sold. Imagine how we felt when we lost Bale?
Only worse for them.
