** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Forest **

Maybe because Conte feels he needs playing through the patch? I look at Son and yes he has been poor but like I always say, with how we play, without a creative outlet behind and, Perisic aside not much from wide its on him, Kane and Deki to create a spark. When like first half we see little of the ball, thats tough TBH

Always amazes me that people think players like Son would get dropped after a few bad games, top players are given time - no matter what level of club they play at.

Just some weird crusade that yiddo is on, doubling down last season when Son was arguably one of the best players in the league says all that needs to be said on that.

When he’s bad, he’s really bad, that’s the problem. He’s a turnover machine, everything dies when he gets involved. He’s failing at the basics, he’s got no touch and he can’t pass, the only meaningful defensive pressure he made today was against Kane.

That he is one of the best players in the league makes it worse, he has no technical limitations, he’s always up against a massively inferior opponent, it can only be a lack of concentration and/or effort. He’s holding himself back.

Maybe we could have had 12 points and better performances ,that's why.
We have been a little bit fortunate in both the Chelsea and Wolves games. No matter what the xG or other stats might say.
I use my eyes and we are grinding our way to wins but giving up lots of quarter/ half chances and surrendering possession and territory too easily.
I think the eyes might be deceiving all of us a bit. We are solid defensively and give up very low probability chances to the opposition. It feels like we're under the kosh, but we're not. And at the other end we are able to create good goal scoring chances. Both the Wolves and Forrest games have been deserved wins, even though it didn't really feel that way.

I totally agree. Though I would say that the first half today was very even - I thought it was only the second half where we did enough to win. But I think that’s common against teams who press hard, and can’t keep that up the whole 90 minutes.

Good win. Good performance.

Forest a bit worse than Wolves, clearly worse than Chelsea, so difficult to tell if we were better or they were just worse. Either way, clearly the best team, deserved win. Just took us a bit too long to get the second and Kane and Son aren't quite hitting their stride the way we know they can.

That will come though, and we're already as good as this. Happy days.

Yep and look at Kane, I would say he was also ineffective recently for the same reason as Son, especially in first half of games where the average pick up of the ball is half way but like Kane and Deki second half when invariably the team improves he gets more in the game, should have got a couple today, didnt, I am not worried

It’s disrespectful tinkle taking. If someone did it to us, I’d want him kicked up in the air. I laughed but Richarlison is 100% in the wrong.

Tbh I think less about the keepy-uppies And more about the slack pass that gave up possession meaning that he gave them a chance to clatter him when he won it back.

Controlling the game without the ball
Will happen against teams who play with no striker so pack the midfield

You were on his case last season even when he was in good goalscoring form because he “only scores goals” but he creates chances and often is near the top of the league in assists so it’s inaccurate that he’s some 90s style goal poacher that scores a goal and does nothing for the rest of the game. Joint top scorer in the league last season and that wasn’t enough to please you.
I'm not just talking about 1 season, i am talking about his whole time here, he is 100% a streaky player and the last 4 games proves it imo. I have no doubt he will have a red hot patch again and score lots of goals and this form he is currently on will be forgotten. Just watch him in a game even when on form, he rarely takes on a man, he isn't a great passer of the ball and is always passing backwards. If he wasn't so great at finishing he would not be in this team imo. I'm not doubting his ability to scores goals he is world class at that, its his overall game play that i feel doesn't get criticised enough, he gets a free pass for falling over and constantly giving the ball away, i have never seen a "world class" player be that poor in general. Son and Kane when not on form can be terrible. Salah, KDB, Bernado Silva etc still do all the basics properly whether they have a good game or not, i can't say the same for Kane and Son.

I just want to make it perfectly clear that i rate both players highly and i will give credit where its due, its the brick part of their games i have a difference of opinion to most on here. This is the last time i will reply to anything regarding this as its getting a little old now, i have my opinion on these players but clearly it upsets too many people when i express them so i will try and hold back on posting negativity towards these players where i can as clearly my opinion is wrong.

Was disappointed with the game. All the hype about a good pre season and early recruits debunked by Forest who showed that if you recruit right and a fitting game plan, you can play some good, attractive football.

I think the recruitment strategy going for depth is paying dividents with quality in depth, however it seems that for some reason we've gone backwards towards more agricultural football of the 80's. Happy for the win, but sorry to say that Forest, Wolves have taken our "to dare is to do" from under us.

We need one or two marquee signings to do better than last year imo. We can't expect to win all the time and I hope that when that "unlucky loss" comes, it won't be the trigger for the release of all the pent up emotions caused by the ugly football we are playing now, kept in check by not losing.
