Tanguy Ndombele

You don't think it's fair to say his fitness has been a huge concern since arriving? I'm horrified he's our record signing at this point.

Not being able to last more than 60 minutes is a reasonably common issue for players who are new to the league. It is concerning that his fitness doesn't look to have improved but I am more concerned if he is asking not to play when fit.

Agree with your post, except for new players being unable to last 60 minutes. It's not like he's coming from non-league. He was playing CL football ffs. Really worrying signs.

Idk what we are supposed to read in to that, i mean a player knows his own body and it makes sense to listen to them if they say aren't ready for action but then at the same time why would Mourinho make it public. All so strange

Do our background psychology checks better?
If I was spending these types of money I would fecking livid if I was Levy!

What if we did and they didn't show anything? Aren't we also jumping ahead of ourselves a little here and deciding that there is a big issue here. We also need to remember that Mourinho has a track record of throwing players under the bus to stamp his authority on the team, we could be seeing that.

He's clearly a very good player, who is struggling to adapt to the physicality of the league. The poor start to our season and the change in manager is not going to help.

How could we have known that? He played plenty of games in his time at Lyon.

There were question marks surrounding him before his breakout season at Lyon, poor focus and weight issues.

I’m not saying that’s what happening here but there were already question marks.

Or maybe he did just feel a tweak. It's not as if we've got no examples in the squad of the risks of rushing back from injury.

PROBABLY Ndombele felt a stiffness or pain in his adductor and didn't want to pull it or aggravate it by playing today, but is hopeful it will feel normal in 2 days' time.

PROBABLY MouMou is thinking "come on, lots of players feel pain and stiffness and just get on with it and fight through the pain, don't be a snowflake, I need you out on the pitch, show me some hunger, don't just sit out because you MIGHT pull something".

I'm excited Sissoko/ Son/ Winks are out of the Norwich game, so MouMou might pick a better line-up. Although I'm worried about Kane and Dele, they are absolutely knackered right now and thus very likely to pull a groin/ hamstring/ roll an ankle vs Norwich.

At Chelsea, Branislav Ivanovic once played the full 90 minutes against Liverpool with a foot injury so severe that, at the end of the game, his boot was filled with blood - to the point where it was leaking out of his laces.

Mourinho went out in public and spent 15 minutes talking about nothing else, before suggesting that Ivanovic's blood-encrusted boot be put up in the academy museum as an inspiration to youth team players and a reminder of what it takes to play at the top.

He's always wanted warriors who put the team before themselves, and he's never liked the sort of thing Ndombele's apparently (and allegedly) doing, skipping matches on a precautionary basis. Especially when doing so means playing a CM duo of Sissoko and Winks and getting dominated in midfield in the process.

I don't blame the guy for his reaction - he could have said worse, if he wanted to.
