*** Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester's 2nd club United***

Never seen Tanganga play before the Juve game. He looks good on and off the ball. Still raw of course. But looks good.

Parrot has very good awareness for a young player and a good eye for a pass.

Saw him last season in the youth CL, and he was stand out for me. Wasn't sure if it was just his size, but he clearly has ability as well. Made a beaut of a pass.

Are Gazza and KWP good enough? Both likable, but neither good enough for me on this evidence. KWP is close but needs a loan imo.

I was wondering what caused all the fuss. Sissoko apparently stamped on James (which he didn't). His foot got tangled but to call it a stamp would be way OTT.
The United clam grabbed hold of Sissoko's foot, making him put the foot down on him!
Then he rolled around like Neymar.

So, halftime thought's.

1) I didn't even know Pogba was on the pitch until that last shot. UTD's main threat was James who they looked to get 1v1 with KWP (who he had on toast to be fair). They did what Liverpool did last year and abused our lack of midfield width and just switched it a couple of times before playing a quick vertical up to James. Still seems a massive problem with our shape.

2) We need fullbacks. They are massively important in this system as they are more exposed than in any other. Not only that but they are essential to our attacking play too. KWP doesn't seem to be exceptional at anything, Georgiou for a winger hasn't looked as bad but then KWP has been on the side they have targetted.

3) Our interplay looks slick, I'm happy with the passing and our lads all look like they know where to pass it before they even receive it. We are well drilled.

4) Lamela > Dele in that #10 role. It'll be interesting to see how we come out in the second half as I think Dele would be better off dropping into CM.

Tbh James seems like a naughty little player, a bit like Dele. He's a good player but isn't afraid to rough people up. He will probably be their clam for the next few years like Dele is ours, that one player opposition fans hate.

Clear that we need a new RB, KWP was poor in defence and going forward.
Massive holes in midfield with the diamond formation.
Dele looking poor.
Parrot looking good.
Pitch is brick.

I think KWP is all to often isolated, with little options.. ..Not once has a team mate over-lapped on his outside..

IIRC he starred in the U17s England side a few summers ago. He and Oakley-Boothe were in the U17s winning side, while Onomah and KWP did the same with the U20s. I think he was featuring at RB rather than CB at that point though

He seems at a level that it makes sense to let 2CV go now.

When I saw the line-up I knew we'd be playing with a diamond again. Poch seems determined for us to play this way but I don't understand why. Why of our players does it benefit?
