OMT - Tottenham Hotspur vs Internazionale

We do need to find an anchor. The stadium delay has -IMO- had a major effect on the playing and coaching staff.

I don’t really see why. Their day to day job is in Enfield, and that is stable. And they should be completely used to Wembley. Why would they be as twitchy as fans about the stadium?

Levy has always said that the stadium wouldnt impact our ability to sign players so presumably some budget was there.

He has to say that, it doesn't mean that it is true. I find it hard to believe that spending £1b on a new stadium wouldn't have some impact.

Steff im sorry but I really don’t buy that a delay in moving to the stadium is a reason for this team to not be performing on a Saturday....

Even more so when you consider our temporary home is one of the best facilities in the world.

I think Levy has taken a chance that Poch can get another top 4 finish out of these players this season. I also think he’s wrong, this is where economic reality will catch up with us and set us back years.

I just hope that Levy’s long term plan comes to fruition because I don’t believe the next 3 seasons will be as enjoyable as the last 3.

I 10000% agree with you on the rationale behind Levy's inaction in the window (ie Poch can get another top 4 finish from the same squad). However in my view we've been performing at 100% of our potential or more for the last few seasons, so trying to stretch that further by not investing in the squad is massively risky.

The contract situation with Vertonghen, Eriksen, Dembele and Alderweireld adds a lot to the risk. Levy's actions will massively backfire if we finish 5th or 6th this season and have to rebuild next summer, with no CL revenue to follow next year

Why is it? Poch said at the start of the window we had our targets, clearly one of them was Grealish amongst others. In the commentary today the guy said Poch had admitted that he wanted to sign an Inter player but I didn’t catch his name. Poch is more than likely claiming he’s happy with no signings because he’s the ulimtate professional. The evidence is that he wanted players in, not sure how much blame can be attributed to him....

That was Balde when he went to Monaco, wasn't referring to this summer.

It's been two dreadful weeks of football. The only thing that can somewhat soften it, is if PSG humiliate Pool. And of course just as I write the fudging bin dippers score. It's only getting worse!

Maybe we shouldnt have been spending so much on the stadium in that case? I've never looked at the breakdown of costs for it, but its always seemed off the charts

You mentally prepare for games, and seasons. We left Wembley in May feeling we had done our time there.
It’s like saying you signed out of your rental because the house was ready to move into and all of a sudden, the house is delayed and you have to go back into the rental!

I think it is a factor, along with fatigue and a few players hanging around when we wanted them gone!

Exactly and I hope Levy didn’t break any promises to Poch in getting him to sign a contract. If he did, Poch will walk at some stage this season. However, if Poch went in with his eyes open, then hopefully he rides this out.

He’s been dealt a bad hand this season but I firmly and absolutely believe he is the man for us. And I don’t give a brick if he loses 10 on the spin, I still want him at our club.

Maybe we shouldn't have built one at all and just focussed on the here and now

No one new to accommodate or get up to speed. The players know each other and the system.

I don't read too much into form across seasons. We haven't got too many games to judge this season on. We got a bad result before the international break and played one of the best sides in the league after. We played well for most of the second half tonight and threw it away.

If the right players are available, then of course we should bring them in. If we had brought in a couple in the summer, I doubt that they would be having much impact now.

Depending on the player I think they would be.

Dier/Dembele/Winks/Sissoko/Wanyama have been inconsistent at best

Getting someone In could have been the different in the Watford game and tonight.
