Would be very happy with another midfielder. Either DM option for Bissouma or another box to box option for the Sarr role. Bentancur can play both. Skipp and Hojbjerg aren't a great fit.

I still think a proper "one vs one" specialist for the wide areas would be huge for (assuming a quality player). Dribbly quick winget type with good end product. Personally I still think that would do so much for us, more than Gallagher or similar. But I've found my peace with that having to wait and am quite happy about the Werner signing.

Another younger up and coming player would be good. Sarr, Udogie type signing either with a loan first or without. Some names floating around, I don't know enough about them to know who I would prefer.

Sean on spurstalkshow was saying he'd like to see kulu transformed into an 8 and we brought in a class right winger. It might not be a bad shout. Raphina might be available. I wanted bakayoko over johnson in the summer.

Thoughts?

I think this is where we'll end up eventually, because I don't think Kulusevski is a typical Ange winger. It might end up that Johnson becomes that player for us, but having a second high quality option in that mould would be good (more of a dribbler than direct and pacy like Johnson).

The Sainburys side mate, there is a set of black electronic gates and then the access leads right up to the pitch (although the buses tend to stay outside)

Spurs players tend to change their entry or maybe it changed due to Covid, sometimes they come up from the unground carpark which comes up next to the front door entrance and then walk past the sponsors board in the foyer OR the same as above then walk via the pitch. Probably also changes if they do a hotel meeting meet and coach in or drive in themselves which I think changes

I think its a good and fluid idea, I like Johnson but also comp is also a great thing to have.
 
If Chelsea had a little short fall in FFP requirements towards the end of the month and the price came down to around £40m I could see us getting it done...

If PEH goes out also.

I think that could be an option. Either as a regular thing or a sometimes thing.

What we miss in the front line when Kulusevski isn't there is ball retention, ability to do useful things when facing the wrong way and good play in tight areas.

Even when he's there we do miss someone that can just go "fudge it" and dribble past his man.

Without Kulusevski wide now we miss too much of what he brings. I think we would really miss him if he was out injured for a while. We should look for someone that will add more of what mostly only he brings to our front three, while also adding what he and others doesn't.

Imo we should do that regardless of if Kulusevski is moved more permanently to a different role or not. We need that in our team/squad. But this January is probably not the time for that.

So we spent, what, £45 million for Johnson just to make him a substitute? Hasn't had the easiest introduction with playing on so many changing starting 11s, but he's making some good plays to set up chances and goals. Unlucky not to have scored a few himself. Starting to remind me of Aaron Lennon.
 
What I like about Johnson is he is getting in the positions. he is not anonymous. So that is a good thing. Now if he can just turn some of those chances in we could be seeing him rise as a important player in our team.

Kulu, I like him. But he frustrates the hell out of me wide right. As an 8 he is much better and can use a lot of his strengths.

I Agree. Im happy with this window. I dont think Gallagher is worth 60m so I hope we dont spend that on him. 30m at most for me.

Also agree we need a Salah type played on the flanks, a tricky player who can break lines in the wide areas and lose a man with skill. Gil but with end product and ability to stay on his feet ;)

I don't care how much we spent on him. I'm not saying he is a bad player. Just don't think he is (at the moment) one of the best wingers in the europe. I want us to be challenging for titles. For that we need some of the best players in the world.

Could he become the next bale etc... maybe? Don't see it yet.

We will always need to upgrade on what we have, if we want to win the prem or cl.

Good shout about reminding you of Lennon, i really think this kid ( still only 22) has a lot of ability and he has a lot of promise. IMO we need to give him the time to show it.

It comes down to who is the next top tier player alongside Son in the front line

Werner, Richi, Johnson, Solomon, Deki, it's 5 players for two positions right now, one of the two needs to contribute heavily to goals, the other can be the worker, pace, presser, whatever other value the team needs.

The wing attacker is the place for an obvious upgrade, regardless of it's Deki/Johnson or we upgrade Richi and push Son back out.

Hopefully he gets to his full potential, Azza didn't quite fulfill his early promise

I want to see Werner, Son, Johnson as a front line against some team that plays high against us ...

I loved Lennon and on his day he was unplayable, but as you say he was missing in some games.
