What sort of player has Delph turned into? I've only seen him live once, a few years ago when Rapid Vienna knocked Villa out of the EL. That day he was overrun by Markus Heikinnen and Branko Bsokovic! I presume he's improved a lot since then...
Dembele is a better player than Delph in every regards.
How old is Delph? Remember him being a prospect but not living up to it once at villa - how long has he been playing well?
Argentine player for sale? tick. Club with Argentine manager? tick. Looks like we've got ourselves a rumour.
I think that is a reasonably fair description of Delph's attributes - although to say that he has zero creativity is very harsh (and not true IMO).He reminds me a lot of Dembele. Solid defensively, fairly mobile, runs with the ball rather than passes, and zero creativity/poor in the final third.
Villa fans actually want to sign Dembele as a like-for-like replacement for him.

If I were to compare Delph to Dembele I would say that Delph is quicker than Dembele, more mobile than Dembele, offers more movement off the ball than Dembele and works harder out of possession than Dembele does. Also while Delph does indeed like to run with the ball, he tends to do this at pace looking to expose the opposition on the break, whereas Dembele looks to slow things down by stopping with the ball and then beating a player from a stationary position. I think this is the biggest difference between the two players and is a reason why I think Delph would be a good alternative Mason option.
Delph can also be a bit of a dirty, nasty ba5tard and I think we lack a bit of that in the team sometimes.
There is also the advantate of Delph being a homegrown player. I'd like to see us bring in Delph and retain Dembele as well. Capoue should be the first player sold if Pochettino doesn't want to grow the size of the squad.
