Transfer Rumour Thread

Good read.

...in contrast to the perennial politicking, disruption and division there always is at this club. It seems to have been that way for ever, and to my way of thinking, that sort of a culture is generally fed from the top down. I really hope Levy is focussed on changing it, and not just "casting around for magic beans," as one Saints fan put it.

Southampton are like us in the Jol years, the hard bit is kicking on to the next level. They haven risen fast and I admire them for doing it by focusing on youth, but it is the next level that like us I think they will find hard to breach, like a nuns Vagina.

I thought for a while that Lennon would end up at Hull (rather than places like QPR or Fulham where he's previously been linked). Him and Hudd were obviously best mates, and it's back closer to his family too.

Were the Hull fans singing to Lennon when he came on? Couldn't work out if it was theirs or ours.

Liverpool are ready to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech, 32, Porto striker Jackson Martinez, 28, and Norwich winger Nathan Redmond, 20, in a £47m triple deal in the January transfer window. (Metro)

Wow - Liverpool must be some club.... Able to do a "triple deal" for players at 3 different clubs!

Berhino done for drink driving, out at 4am on a weeknight. Does raise questions about his character.

Lennon is the last of our Spice Boys left, so perhaps we are in need of replenishing our British culture. Mason, Kane, Dier and Townsend all seem a bit too clean cut and professional for the job.

Didn't Townsend get fined for betting on some matches or something?

Doesn't sound good at all. There are 100 reasons not to sign a player so you can never be 100% sure... but that is quite a big reason to steer clear.

Brings to mind images of him going out late and fannying around like Balotelli when he should be resting up and getting ready for a game.

Alternatively this could be a big wake up call and might make him review things and concentrate on his football?

sounds just right for us. we were at our best when we had a bad-but-not-too-bad-boy around: gaiscoigne, sheringham, woodgate, king, chirches 8-[....

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly sent scouts to gather more information about Ajax right-back Ricardo van Rhijn.

The 23-year-old has earned an impressive reputation in Amsterdam, and has been repeatedly linked with a move away from the club in recent seasons.

According to The Mirror, representatives from the club were present to watch Van Rhijn in his side's 3-1 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.

Van Rhijn is believed to be valued at close to £5m by Ajax, but reports suggest that both Napoli and Villarreal are interested in the Netherlands international and could compete with Mauricio Pochettino's side for the defender's signature.

Kyle Walker has emerged as Tottenham's first-choice right-back in recent seasons, but he has not played since March due to an abdominal injury.

Ah, yes, the ever reliable Mirror.

How many scouts were sent? How often? To which games? Are they our really good scouts with merit badges in Talent Appreciation and Ability Projection or just the apprentice ones looking to top up the boardroom schpliff supplies?

You just know that there's a headline lurking around the corner - Spurs Horny for Rhijn-o

Doumbia to Spurs/Liverpool/Arsenal rumour appeared again.

You can tell the window is coming up, if you go by the recent links in the press we'll have a brand new first eleven come January.

Saying that, Doumbia would offer a far more rounded game for a lone striker than either Ade or Soldado, probably cost £20m though.

exactly, but since its not Arry stocking up its deemed acceptable I guess

Why the trolling, fella?

No one has mentioned Harry. When we had too many right backs in Harry's time, it was the club as a whole who bore the brunt of the criticism rather than Harry specifically. And the club is getting just as much criticism now for the current unbalanced nature of our squad. So it's clearly got **** all to do with Harry and everything to do with the fact that fans just want a well balanced squad. No need stir up the whole Harry nonsense yet again.
