Transfer fred.

Scarlett, Devine, Donley are great prospects, but nothing more and years off being a real option for team. The step from promising youngster to genuine PL talent is probably the hardest

I disagree
It’s about opportunity
Ferguson was a highly rated youth prospect but he was given opportunities that clubs don’t generally give players
That’s the kicker

Not really, for every Dele, Rooney, Ferguson, there are 1000's that don't make the step up, it's an exception that proves the rule.

There is a real conversation of how do those talents get a chance in a top club (where the risk/allowance for failure is verry different to a Brighton/Brentford/West Ham), or should there just be an expected loan/development model?

There are 1000s but most of them aren’t good enough in reality
But many who aren’t as good get better with the opportunities
Loans help but aren’t the sole answer
We should aim every season to exit 2 squad players for 2 new youth developed ones

Not arguing but the ability to identify a player that just has a good moment vs. can/will step up is pretty much impossible.

2 per season is probably to high, data/percentages will probably say it's too aggressive

I think we need also realize producing a PL/Championship level players regularly is different from producing a Spurs/Top 6 level player

Of course
But that’s why you need the pathway
For every Harry Kane there are many others that are prem level
Tanganga
Winks
Townsend
Mason
Walker peters
Skipp

but that pathway has died under recent managers
