Winning the EL may well be our main chance to get CL place next season. So, don't want us to take any risks by resting players in EL. Will prefer us to play a strong team against all our opponents.
 
Put out the usual second string, but have a strong bench as we're at home. We MUST WIN this one.

We're not resting players - we just have a good squad of 25+ senior players.

A team without our starting 11 for Sunday should be able to cruise this. It's after Christmas we have to take it more seriously.
 
What is our second string?

With so many players underperforming each week you might just as well draw names out of a hat.

Indeed, but Id say our second XI or whatever you want to call it will be strong enough to get us through the group stages - the knockout stage will be a different matter....

A fair point, but Id say Poch has pretty much been consistent with players picked for PL- only changes are usually CB due to injury/bedding in of Fazio and CM. Perhaps CF with Soldado/Kane given more of a chance now, but I think there is a clear core of players who we know will feature in PL games and only make the bench at best for EL games...

Although because Poch wrongly played Lamela v City, not sure if he needs more recovery time after this recent travels. If so, then play Chadli or Lennon instead of him. This is a must win game in terms of EL, so I think Lloris should play.

Spot on. Games like this are the reason you have squads. Can't play your best 11 every game I'm afraid, not with players like Sterling feeling tired after less than 2 months.

Is Dembele fit? If he is I would have thought he'd play, he seems to get minutes off the bench in league games so Im sure he'd play in EL...

He's no more than fifth choice in CM at the moment. Playing minutes are probably better spent on Bentaleb and Stambouli.

Decent looking side. A bit low on creativity in that attacking midfield trio though (essentially only Kane). Would love to see a similar setup, but with another youngster getting a go as a number 10 or out wide with Kane in behind the striker.
