*** Tottenham Hotspur vs Crystal Palace***OMT ***

Concerned about this game. Without wanting to tempt fate, I dont see us losing given they're missing their best two players however we need to win these sort of games and given we're without our best two CMs I can see our switch from defence to attack being very slow. We might therefore be reliant on a bit of a bit of magic up front and nicking it 1-0

Like someone said above, I would be tempted to play ERiksen in CM however I cant see Poch doing that

Anything but Dembele, right?

Palace are an organised team that will defend deep. Dembele's ponderousness will completely kill off all our attacking impetus

I'd have him on the bench, to bring on for Townsend at 2-0 up to suffocate the game (or similar circumstances). That's his useful role for us IMO.

After the excellent win over Chelsea, let's see which Spurs will turn up against Palace. We are always vulnerable when everyone expect us to win. We tend to get complacent against shyte teams as shown so far this season. We dropped valuable points to Palace when we drew 0-0 at home earlier in the season. Let's see if we turn up with the right mentality and get the win here. Surely, we cannot afford to drop points in this match if we want to stay in the top 4 race.

I am convinced we have to get an early goal to win this match. The more this match goes without us scoring, the more difficult it will be for us to win. Kane has been in great goal scoring form lately. Hope he will score again in this match. Palace is the kind of teams Kane should be looking to score from. Hope Kane will make use of any chances that comes his way. Eriksen has gone quiet in the last few matches. Hope he will find his goal scoring boot in this match.

It was great to see Chadli getting back his goal scoring form against Chelsea and Burnley. Hope he will continue that in this match. Too bad Lamela is still out injured. We can make use of his creativity against defensive-minded teams like Palace. Also wish we can bring on Lennon but it seems he is out of favour now. Still not convinced about Townsend but hope he will have a good match. He really needs to stop those stupid long range shots and start to create chances for others instead. Also, want Kane to take our penalties instead of Townsend whenever we get one. We are still struggling to find the right combination in centre midfield. But want to see us play Dembele-Stambouli again there. They need to play together more to gel together.

Still not sure how we can improve our defending. We have conceded 4 goals in the last 2 matches which is not good. The lack of a top quality defensive midfielder is one of the main reason for our problems. But hope the defenders will avoid any silly mistakes. Fazio almost cost us the win against Chelsea with that stupid error which gave them their 2nd goal. Hope he will avoid that kind of mistakes and concentrate on safety first. Hope Vertonghen and Fazio will improve their defending together. Hope Lloris will have another good match to stop the Palace attacks.

IMO, this is a must-win match for us if we want to keep in touch with the top 4. We will drop down badly if we don't win this match. Hope we will put up a good performance and win.

Any official team news yet ?

Can see this being a tough match as Palace will concentrate on defending. Hope we will call upon our good away form to do enough to beat them. Will be disappointed if we don't win this match.

TEAM NEWS

Crystal Palace's Yannick Bolasie and Mile Jedinak are both absent on international duty.
Striker Marouane Chamakh could return after four matches out with a hamstring injury, while midfielder James McArthur should be fit despite a rib problem.
Tottenham will be without midfielder Nabil Bentaleb, who has joined Algeria at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Ryan Mason misses out with a hamstring injury, while Erik Lamela is absent with a calf problem, but Benoit Assou-Ekotto is back in the squad and in line for a recall.

Ekotto? Love to see him play for us again.

Because that's the one useful role he performed for us when coming on against Chelsea?!

There was one point when we had like five right backs, we seemed to collect them. Always been short at LB though. I still think when Vertonghen can be bothered he's one of the best left backs around.

You mean like Walker, Yedlin, Naughton, Fredericks and Dier? The difference is that we in adition to that have three recognised left backs in BAE, Davies and Rose, and have Vertonghen who can play there aswell.

And the bench? It's very unusual to release the OFFICIAL team and NOT the subs!
