Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

Those bogs are mustard!

I think it's great we're getting in Liverpool for the new stadium opener.

Their chirpy fans have poor-mouthed Spurs for longer than I care to remember. They have relentlessly disparaged the club's ambition to build this great new stadium and then hammered away at the design and features of the place.

But you just know it's all based on fear, loathing and envy.

Our Kop is bigger than their Kop. Our stadium will be infinitely more fabulous than anything they can cobble together at Anfelled. Our teams play the most attractive football in the league and now routinely finish ahead of Liverpool. There's little to indicate that this is a trend likely to reverse itself once the new stadium opens.

And they can't handle it.

They'll come to our new ground and try to play us off the park and out-sing and out-chant the home side. It's a perfect situation because you know our guys will be well up for this, on the pitch and in the stands. It would have been far too easy to get a soft opponent in to ensure the opening day brings three points.

With Liverpool in for the opener, the new stadium will instantly find its voice. And it will be an almighty, sustained roar.

Bring 'em on! Can't wait.

I really don’t get this whole “rivalry” with Liverpool. Comes across like something our fans on here have invented. Seems like most on here view Liverpool as our most hated rival. I merely see them as competition for a top 4 spot and possibly fellow title challengers. Forget idiots on twitter and fan forums like RAWK, most Liverpool fans I know view us a real threat. It’s only natural there is some banter between the two teams and their fans as we are both fighting for the same thing.

Arsenal at home or Chelsea at home would have been my first choice for the opening game at the new stadium personally.

It's not rivalry, they're just clams.

There's a fair few of us who were kids in the 80's and went to school with glory hunters who supported Liverpool. That's where my dislike started but they are good at keep topping it up.

So have the trays they slid out been slid back under the stand? Or is even the astroturf pitch buiIt on trays and our grass pitch slides out on more trays? I suppose our grass pitch is growing in trays somewhere (training ground?) or are the trays so big they'd have to be onsite already?
Strange that such a huge Spurs fan knows so little about our new stadium. There is SO much info out there...

The trays are flipping enormous and it took over a month to deliver them.
A club can change their pitch in a week, so adding turf to our trays is no big deal.
The surface is all primed i.e. drainage systems and sand.

The "astroturf" is mostly laid, they are just rolling out the final green layer which is remarkably thin. They are taking their sweet time about that, but there is no rush it seems.

Drove by the stadium today ... the entrance to the west stand is humongous. I've seen it go up but now that it's almost complete... It's borderline rediculous.

And how many clubs can you name that the rules were changed because of them? The Liverpool back pass to the keeper was painfully dull. It's poetic that they haven't won the league since the rule changed.
