Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

Re: Northumberland Development Project

There are always people who think that if they hold out they will be able to squeeze a little more money out. In this instance it may well back fire on them.

Edit: Is it me or does Harry Hotspur go mental with anyone who disagrees with his opinion?? I've read his blog a few times and as soon as someone comes along with a well written counter he instantly gets shirty.

Re: Northumberland Development Project

If they have been offered 3.5m and then rejected it then they only have themselves to blame.

3.5m for scrub land in the middle of Tottenham. They have hung on to be the last property in the area holding us up. Its obvious they must have thought then they could be the last a push their price up. For 3.5m they could buy land in a more accesible area for their business, and build a new warehouse easily.

Re: Northumberland Development Project

We all know Levy loves a bargain but then again we should not forget that he has a degree in both economics and land economy which is looks at.

Land Economy was the subject that the jocks did. Half the university rugby team and many of the rowers would be enrolled in the course.

On the Harry Hotspurs story, it doesn't read true. Why would a relative choose to give an exclusive to him rather than the regular press?

Moreover, the site Spurs have selected for the relocation is 500 White Hart Lane and planning permission was granted in May 2010. A revised plan to increase the area was later approved (you can find the links for the planning applications here).

Re: Northumberland Development Project

The stadium is the wrong way round in that picture isn't it (east-west, rather than north-south)?

I wonder if it's an error, or they know something we don't know about the revised design?

It's just an optical illusion - the length of the stadium being squashed by perspective.

If you look closely at the stadium, you can see the upper deck clearly through the stadium roof opening. That is the Park Lane end, where the single tier kop should be. Someone's not paying attention in doing up this render.

The stadium is shown the correct way around in the other pictures in this document: http://www.haringey.gov.uk/tottenham_summary_pdf_web.pdf

Guess they just used a generic image for the Park Lane stand as the new stadium design still remains under wraps and might not even include a single tier kop, as KSS proposed all the way back in 2009.

Re: Northumberland Development Project

Ah, Harry Hotspur again. A shame that such a noble moniker is being sullied online having been appropriated by such a gobby, petulant man-child.

Re: Northumberland Development Project

I've just seen the teams name is Miami Beckham United. That's ****ing hillarious.

That was just a tabloid thing because someone saw that the company name had been registered. Its probably going to be used for a marketing or rights management related purpose.

Then again, there was a USFL team named the Tampa Bay Bandits in the 1980s because Burt Reynolds was a part owner.
