Top 5 movies.

As someone has already said, these 5 could change often, but will try to place the ones I have watched the most here...

A Clockwork Orange
The Shining
Planes, Trains & Automobiles
The Witch
Nil By Mouth

Honourable mention for Lynn Ramsey's Ratcatcher and Samantha Morton's The Unloved, plus the Scarlet Johansson film Under The Skin, the original Let The Right One In, and last but not least, Steve McQueen's Small Axe series of films...

Can I start on my top Mike Leigh, Ken Loach and Lindsay Anderson films now???

This was not just five was it...:D

Brilliant film.

Rififi - the daddy of all heist movies.
Pulp Fiction - still a quality film today and was pioneering.
The Intouchables - just a cute simple film.
JungleBook (original one, watched it on shrooms, and only enhanced a beautiful film!)
Seven Samurai - a ground breaking archetypal film/story that others have copied in various guises (Mr Lucas and Starwars for example).
The Producers.

Just watched The Producers again last night. It is a low-budget, first movie from Mel Brooks, the gags are corney, its old and in many ways flawed. But it is one of the best comedy films ever made for me: I had to come back here and edit my selection. Zero Mostal and Gene Wilder at perfect times in their careers for their respective roles. I don't know why I always come back to this film, it's a special one for me.

Despite going to war (WWII) and then being blacklisted for around a decade for being socialist, it is quite something that Zero Mostal forged such a successful career. All he wanted to do was paint, but when he gave art tours around museums, his comedic instincts shone through, and he went onto give talks, deliver standup and then plays and films.
