The Road To Tirana - European Conference League 2021/22

Similar to the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, the prize money received by the clubs is divided into fixed payments based on participation and results, and variable amounts that depend on the value of their TV market.[8]

For the 2021–22 season, group stage participation in the Europa Conference League awarded a base fee of €2,940,000. A victory in the group pays €500,000 and a draw €166,000. Also, each group winner earns €650,000 and each runner-up €325,000. Reaching the knock-out stage triggers additional bonuses: €300,000 for the round of 32, €600,000 for the round of 16, €1,000,000 for the quarter-finals and €2,000,000 for the semi-finals. The losing finalists receive €3,000,000 and the champions receive €5,000,000.[9]

  • First qualifying round: €150,000
  • Second qualifying round: €350,000
  • Third qualifying round: €550,000
  • Play-off round: €750,000
  • Qualified to Group Stage: €2,940,000
  • Match won in Group Stage: €500,000
  • Match drawn in Group Stage: €166,000

  • 2nd in Group Stage: €325,000

  • Semi-final: €2,000,000

Not really.... Assuming a team goes through as group winners with 4 wins and then goes on to win the competition that is only about 15m euros. I think that is the same amount as a team gets for participating in the group stages of the Europa league and less than half of what a team gets for winning the Europa.

This is a big step down financially from Europa football and a huge step down from CL football. The only advantage of being in this competition is that we can keep our UEFA coefficient high.

It's also a very winnable competition for us as well, could be huge in the squads development to have a trophy on the board.

I assumed it would be £5 million tbh....

We have not won a trophy in 13 years. Hope we see and treat this as an opportunity to win one. Beggars can't be choosers.

Thanks. No horrendous journeys in there, like Russia or Israel, though I guess Bulguria is c.3 hours

Whoever we get, I hope that for the away leg we leave all the players who are going to start the PL game afterwards at home
