Great comment on the BEEB

We're getting the first shots of the German and Greek players on the pitch at
the PGE Arena. Giorgos Karagounis has really nailed his colours to the mast,
specifically blue. He's not only wearing a blue Greece tracksuit but he's also
sporting blue trainers. He's a white pointy hat away from being a smurf.

Diego Maradona: "If 300 Greeks were able to hold off 10,000 Persians 11 Greeks have a chance against 11 Germans"

Really hope Germany do the business against Chelgreece tonight. I have Gomez to be top scorer and Germany to win the tournament so Low better just be resting Gomez.

Didn't watch the game this evening, but I've heard Keown was outstanding.

Something about 'NFL basketball players' and 'stubbed ankles' among other things.

He said one of the players had great spring like and NFL basketball player. brick commentator/pundit and also a ****

Seems like Germany is underestimating the Greeks a bit,but still that lineup should be more than good enough to beat them

Germany are not underestimating them. Gomez, Podolski and Muller have been below par. Klose is better for the team than Gomez, even though Gomez has 3 goals. Shurrle and Reus are better against a very defensive team like Greece. This is a clever move by Low.

Reus is a very good player. I'm surprised Gotze hasn't got any game time yet, he would have been a good option to start also.

Greece are essentially the Chelsea of international football in the sense that they are horrible to watch and are incredibly spawny and somehow fluke results out of nowhere. The big difference being Chelsea have spent billions to win assemble their team and win trophies, whereas Greece have lost billions!

No point in playing a winger with Johnson as he seems to overlap all the time and gets in the way. Neville played great with Beckham because Beckham was a right sided midfielder, not a winger. When Neville overlapped there was a natural balance. Johnson just needs the right player in front of him, or vice versa.
