Not really, if a strong manager buys him who tells him to stick to the wing he would return to being as good as he was.

Certainly, what I didn't get across very well is that I don't think we can hope to get the same amount for him as we could have gotten last summer, and his paycheck would probably not be as high either. One more season like 2011, and both should at least rise to the level it was at.

Release
Saha - 50k
King 80k
Gomes - 40k

Offer Bale 200k a week from his current 100k.

Sell/Release
Pienar - 80k
KRanjcar - 40k

Offer Modric 180k from his current 60k.

Problem solved.

What makes me laugh this morning in the media. Its all will Bale and Modric stay.

No mention of will Cisse,Ba,Ben Arfa and Cabaye stay at Saudi Sportswashing Machine
No mention of will Liverpool be able to keep Suarez,Gerrard,Reina

How come its only Spurs that will lose their best players?

Because Spurs sells a lot more papers and generate far more clicks than Saudi Sportswashing Machine, and Liverpool is the media's darling regardless?

Where you pulling these wage figures from? You honestly want the club to smash it's wage structure and open the door to a queue of other players demanding more money? #-o

Modric leaving is by no means the end of us. Three teams miraculously finised above us with players in a creative midfield position that I'm sure have been deemed not good enough for us many a time on here.

Arteta, Rosicky, Ramsey, Song, Carrick, Mikel, Miereles, Romeu, Park Ji Sung, even Anderson and Cleverly got about 25 games between them I think, and I'd consider them both pretty toss.

It would be a blow, but I agree not the end. Who knows we could uncover another gem just as good, we just dont know. As long as we dont sell and then just think, "of we have Huddlestone to come back, no need to buy another midfielder" like another poster suggested

In the Sun they are reporting 25m plus Diarra for Modric from Real.

I would definitely NOT accept that. 40m plus DIarra (I dont think we need him I also think they are just giving us their cast off) then we could 'talk'

I like Diarra(wanted him instead of Parker) but a DM is the last thing we need. Swap him for Sahin and I'd do the deal now.
