Roberto Soldado

I think his past reputation as a striker in the Spanish league will make the opponents take notice of him.
What about his past reputation at Spurs for being a complete failure? Defenders will be delighted when they play Soldado, not worried, lol.

Not at all it was just how you said it made it sound like that's who we're after. I don't rate him one bit and the fact no big boys are sniffing around him says a lot too.
It says that he is more potential than he is finished article and therefore in our reach.

If a "big boy" were after him, we would no longer be in the race

Sport Mediaset, dont have a scooby who they are, claiming that Borussia Dortmund have joined the Bobby chase and are preparing a 8.5 mill bid. Maybe thats why a Spurs delegation is making its way to Germany, to get rid of players rather than buy

They could easily take a couple of days off. Train on Monday and Tuesday, then fly out late on Tuesday and back on Thursday.

theyve flown out to Murica today. So something must be happening with Bob

Who do we need then? We need a tricky forward who can make things happen on his own and knows where the net is.

Chelsea have Hazard - May not be an out and out striker but still a forward

Arsenal have Sanchez - Same as above

City have Aguero - he is a striker but very similar to the others above as he is tricky and can run at players.

United now have Depay - Similar to Berahino IMO.

Ok Berahino is no where near the same standard as the above but he plays the same sort of way and who else like that can we get? When was the last time we had a tricky forward who can turn players Inside out? Keane maybe in a way?
I would argue that in some ways Harry Kane is already that type of striker. He is a good dribbler of the ball and is capable of creating his own chances.

Looking at your post though I wonder whether what you really want is a wing forward type of player (as that is what Hazard, Sanchez and Depay are). If so then it would seem that the club are actively looking for such a player with our interest in Martial earlier in the window, also Moses more recently, stories of a bid turned down today for Sane and also rumours of interest in Bolasie.

Surely, it will be stupid to sell Soldado if we are not going to buy any more strikers ! He doesn't score many goals but at least he will be a decent backup for Kane.
In my World a striker who doesn't score many goals isn't particularly good backup for a striker who scores lots of goals. I would rather have somebody coming in who actually knows where the net is.
