Roberto Soldado

I hope you are in the same situation as I was some years ago, Mumorn - long before I started posting here. I was told by Mr. Martin Jol that we would sign Routledge on the July 1. Why? Because I interviewed him at WHL after Mido had a glorious first game for Spurs against Portsmouth. I was working for the Norwegian Supporters Club then, Big Martin was in a very good mood and told me and my fellow Norwegian mate that Routledge would come. I told a few friends of mine that Routledge would sign. Of course I got slated. But it stopped on July 1 ;)

With Chadli, and with other recent transfers, the club has announced 'agreement reached' with the other club and then, some time later announced personal terms and medical agreed/passed. Give we haven't yet had the initial agreement, I think talk of a medical etc can be dismissed.

I also think that in the present climate, with the Bale unrest, Levy would want to make an announcement re Soldado as soon as he could - thereby sending a message to all concerned re our ambition.

I suppose there is the possibility that Valencia have embargoed announcement re an agreement until they've lined up a replacement, although the idea that any club approached by Valencia asking about a striker wouldn't know it is to replace the recently sold Soldado is somewhat far fetched.

So putting all of this together, I think it is unlikely a deal has been reached between the clubs.

Not logically sound Cotswold. Spurs have not yet reached agreement with Valencia in terms of payments, so they cannot say it is agreed subject to player terms and medical. Reports have said Soldado has agreed terms, so maybe this transfer is the opposite of the scenario with Chadli you mentioned.

Or, he has signed but we are slow to announce it because, er, Mumorn?

im sure yesterday i heard someone on the radio or on tv say that Soldado's agent has fallen out big time with the Valencia board and this is holding up the deal, maybe to do with some payments Soldado or the agent are due??? who knows

that would be our luck, not getting a player because the player's agent is acting up against the club we're buying him from. jesus effin christ.
