Radu Drăgușin

Obviously its early days here for him but he did what he needed to do and looked assured while doing it. It must not be easy for him coming into a game when the player he replaced is getting a reputation as one of the best CBs in the league.

You know, having seen a couple of interviews with Dragusin and seen how he (allegedly) conducted himself during his transfer, I suspect that he views that as a challenge -- to come in and do as well as VdV, maybe even take either his or Romero's place on merit.

As people have said, he had it relatively easy against a tired Villa side down to 10 men and with their heads down, but he did all that could be asked of him. The silver lining of VdV's injury (assuming it's more serious than just a slight knock) is that we'll get to see how Dragusin does.

I thought he outstanding
he passed really well and with control
he broke forward A few times and showed his pace
and he had every villa attacker in his pocket when they actually tried to attack
micky is class but with the aspirations we have we really need to be smart around what we do next season with the young CBs we have as we need 4 Hugh quality ones

Tbf it was 0-0 and 11 v 11 when he came on.

Okay, I thought he was on just after the second goal, but it seems not. Subbed on at 49 minutes, 50 the first goal, 53 the second, 65 the McGinn red. Still, he'd have had a much tougher last half hour against 11 men.

A small excerpt from the Athletic re Dragusin. Emerson Royal level of professionalism and self-improvement. Looks like we have ourselves a gem of a player.

Even by the standard of modern footballers, Dragusin is a perfectionist with his physical condition. He weighs his own food, measures his own sleep, and likes to go to the gym before and after training if he can. When Dragusin, who has one year left on a degree course in Romania, is not playing, he likes to play chess — a passion he shares with Eric Dier, the man he effectively replaced in the January window when Dier left Spurs for Bayern.

He pores over footage of his own game, analysing his mistakes and finding areas to improve. From the very start of his career, when he left Romania for Juventus as a teenager, it was this relentless mentality that marked him out.

Sounds really good. Looks likely that he'll get a start against Fulham. Will be good for him and nice for us to get another look at what he can do.

If that's his attitude and he keeps that up he could become a top class player.

Weighs his own food and measures his own sleep? What does he do if it doesn't measure up? Goes back to bed with a bag of peanuts?

Dier should have spent his time trying to become a better footballer.
