Pre Season 2016

Looking at the pics and the summary, I'd say we likely started with:

----------------Vorm------------
Trippier----CCV-----???---Walkes
---------Bentaleb--Mason------
------Carroll---???---Pritchard--
-----------------Son-------------

Second half (again guessing from the pictures and report)

---------------Mcgee------------
????--------????-----????-------???
---------Wanyama--Winks------
------????---Harrison---Chadli--
-------------Janssen-------------

Some of the players look like they got longer than 45, Mason for instance is in shots with Son and Harrison.

Most players are credited with 'action' or suchlike, Mason get 'on duty'

Only a friendly, but it's pretty rubbish to lose to a championship side

Levy, Poch, Mitchell and the rest get the fvuk out

It is pretty crap but pre season really doesn't mena anything for the season coming up. We were brilliant in preseason under Ramos and then had 2 points from 8 games (as you may have heard once or twice...)
If there's any time to get a bad result out of the way a behind closed doors friendly is it.

Good to see "Nabs" has a reputation for getting back into pre-season. Hopefully it shows and carries over into the season. Was also nice to see Scotty Parker in the photos from that Fulham match, notwithstanding the two-handed grab he has on Wanyama.

Bentaleb has a lot to prove, to your point good start is working hard.

Some of the media says our pre-season travel distance is the highest of any PL club, not sure it matters are we probably play the least games?

Yeah the mileage thing is a bit of a laugh.

It isn't like they fly to Melbourne and back twice in three days on Ryanair.

I read somewhere that the Euro players apart from Hugo are back later this week, just in time to board the plane to OZ

The striker, who joined us from AZ Alkmaar last week, turned in Kieran Trippier’s cross to cancel out Danny Ward’s first-half opener before youngsters Shayon Harrison and Marcus Edwards completed the victory in the latter stages at Hotspur Way.

It was another useful pre-season exercise as Mauricio Pochettino once again fielded a mixture of senior and Development Squad players in the team’s final outing before next week’s International Champions Cup opener against Juventus in Melbourne, Australia.

The early action saw Ryan Mason send in a corner for central midfield partner Victor Wanyama, but the Kenyan international’s header flew just the wrong side of the back post.

Ward opened the scoring for the Millers on 17 minutes, finishing off an incisive move, but we continued to control the pace of the game and Wanyama and Janssen both went close within 60 seconds of each other just before the 20-minute mark.

Good work from Nacer Chadli almost led to a breakthrough shortly before the break when he powered down the left side but his low ball across the box was intercepted before it reached Heung-Min Son in a dangerous position.

Son did manage to get a shot away nine minutes after the restart but he fired wide, although we didn’t have to wait much longer for an equaliser. Trippier played the ball in low from the right side and Janssen cleverly turned it home at the near post with 57 minutes gone.

Son then went close again while Chadli whipped a fierce free-kick low around the Rotherham wall, only to be denied by goalkeeper Lewis Price low down to his left.

Our substitute stopper Tom Glover was largely a spectator in the closing moments as we pushed the Millers back and our control of the game told on 82 minutes when forward Shayon Harrison, on for Janssen and having gone close moments earlier, slotted home from close range after good work on the right side of the box by Edwards.

The latter capped things off three minutes from time by adding his own name to the scoresheet, impressively winning the ball back close to the byline, turning away from the nearest defender and firing high into the net from a tight angle.

No Clinton then, seems like he will be off to France.
Not many regular first team starters - good to see them getting a rest.
I thought Son was off to the Olympics?

Edit : And no Bentaleb?

Fazio and Grant Ward too

Grant Ward is injured (as per Windy).
Fazio I think we know is pretty certain to be off, whether loan or sale.

It will be a shame if this is an indication that Pritchard is off, but given his age now, I imagine he would want some certainty around playing time which it probably is not possible to give him.
