OT Away fans...who's the best?

Not that difficult to support and cheer successfull teams like ManU. I am sure atleast half of them are not even original ManU fans, just glory hunters from other clubs. In contrast, real fans are those who follow teams despite not tasting success for so long. In that sense, you have to admire Saudi Sportswashing Machine fans for their loyal support despite not winning a trophy for almost 60 years !

You cant be a real fan if your team is successful?

Really? I thought that Villa (along with Stoke) were the most impressive PL away fans to visit the Lane this season.

They were loud throughout and had some funny chants. Although the way their team played that day I suppose the fans needed to resort to entertaining themselves.

I meant generally when Ive seen them this season....although I guess theres not much to get excited about for them

Saudi Sportswashing Machine away fans have always been pretty good, for me though it has to be the supporters of Ajax and Feyenoord, seen them both at the lane and they are usally terrific.

Stoke fans were poor this year but I don't think they took a full allocation either, couldn't make out as I had taken a ticket from a mate in West upper towards the Paxton. Generally I find them to be the best away fans along with Man Utd.

Someones been watching Youtube for Feyenoord's last visit to White Hart Lane in the Cup Winners Cup quarter final in 1992 then!

John de Wolf

scared the brick outta me back then...

Don't forget that us and Sunderland (who have decent away support, only positive thing I'll say about them) have to travel almost double the distance of any other set of fans over the course of a season.

Is anyone here old enough to remember when we brought 17,000 to White Hart Lane in the 80's? 1987, 5th round of the FA Cup. I obviously wasn't there but have heard tales of people being crushed etc and that if we had scored (Beardo hit the bar) there might not have been a Hillsborough, it would have been the White Hart Lane disaster.

Not sure why I said Stoke actually, as I should only really go on teams that I've heard live. I was at the home game the other week and I was too tinkled to actually hear them properly...

The best away fans (in the PL) I've heard at the Lane were probably Birmingham last season.
The fact that they were shouting for survival helped, but they had to be applauded nonetheless.

I can't remember what prompted now but didn't the Spurs fans applaud the Brum fans for some reason? It was a right mutual lovefest.

The Celtic fans are having a massive disco and party at Kilmarnock currently...

They have 3 sides of the ground

not hard to be a good away fan when you're winning somethin like 90 percent of the games against us...
