I only mentioned Rose above as I think Ekotto is a decent left back and better than Rose. Yes we can improve but really dont think Rose is the one to solve our left back problem (if we actually have one).

Yep, its a pre-season friendly, with a 2nd team on really brick conditions. Im not bothered if we lose all of our pre season friendlies. look at what happened the year when we won all of our pre-season friendlies.

Not to worried about the resault, that was not the first team, it is only a game to get the fittness up, and to look at what we have. deffo some of the players to leave, and others need to go on loan, to learn how to play in a team. Rose is not a full back, Townend need to pass more, Fryers looks ok but played out of postion, the older players who can't do it now, need to be sold.

Only Walker's a guaranteed starter from the team that played. Pre season means nothing, just look at 08-09, demolish everyone, put five past Roma and start the season with two points from eight games.

This. We already have had meaningless games - Kingston, Swindon , Colchester etc. we should be much more competitive from now on. Disappointing that even with a B team we were comprehensively beaten.

and when we last played nearly relegated Sunderland with all those players bar Paulinho we won because of???? hmmmmmmm:-k


if anything, the potential signing of Soldado will at least take the pressure off Bale.
 
Thankfully Dembele and the Brazilians should be the first choice midfielders. There's also Holtby.

Cabral should become popular at Sunderland while Sessignon should be one to look at for fantasy football.

What a load of nonsense. Since when has these mickey mouse pre season cups been important?
 
I also belive that Sunderland will have a bad Discipline problem, looking at some of the little things they did but not punished for.
 
Decent run out.

Good performances from most the lads somewhat likely to be starting games somewhat frequently come the start of the season, Walker, Ade and Dawson. Lennon didn't manage to do much, but he needs a pitch where the ball can roll to do his stuff, no big deal.

Two somewhat silly goals against us, individual mistakes, that happens. We were pushing for the equalizer and they got some chances in the last 15, not concerned. Horrible pitch, didn't suit us at all, but we tried to play football and I'm happy we did.
 
in the starting line up we had Gomes, Hudd, Parker and Ade - all of which are likely to be sold before the start of the season :ross:

Lets hit the panic buttons...
 
Seriously though we learn far more from failing. Fail early and learn from them and be ready for the season in August.
