OMT ** Tottenham Hotspur v Palace **. 28.12.25 4.30pm

Tough game, and not one that will give a lot of ammunition to either Frank's defenders or his detractors, tbh.

On the plus side, we ground out a win. On the negative, we looked pretty toothless doing it until Palace tired right at the end, which is natural given this is their third game in a week.

Positive performances from Gray, and especially Odobert when he came on and tried to make things happen. Also good to see Dragusin back after his horror year.

Take that and move on - it probably buys Frank January at least, and hopefully the season if he can string a couple more together over that period. But performances need to improve, no doubt about it. Better decisions need to be made on and off the ball, and for that we need smarter players. Hopefully we can snatch a few in Jan.

Also, credit to the away fans as usual - loud all night, outsung the Palace lot. :)
We always look toothless, we looked blunt under Ange as well despite scoring decent numbers. The quality of the attack just isn't really there.

A settled confident team wraps that up far earlier. But we’re not used to winning and almost have imposter syndrome. Game was there for the taking, we couldn’t quite sew it up. But we have a few days rest now.

Confidence is so low. Especially up front. Credit to Richie thought he competed well and he should have had a brace.

We need to get into a habit of winning. A lot of those players are low on confidence. We can say a well fought win and clean sheet.

No argument there. Hopefully the return of Kulusevski will help (I have zero hope Solanke and Maddison return before season's end), and we also get a quality left-winger and left-back in January. All of those will help bolster our attack, and we can then conduct major surgery come the summer.

5th clean sheet in the PL this season. One away from our total for the entirety of last season's campaign. Whilst the performances might not be there, Frank is clearly having some affect upon our defence in numbers at the very least.

I can smell the

"I don't wanna make this about Ange but........" from here

Thought we were pretty woeful in the first half and the first half of the second half but once Palace tired and we bought on fresh legs we could have won it by 2 or 3 goals. As always while it is only 1-0 its nervy for us, but on the whole we defended their balls into the box fairly well.
And I have to say even though I am not a big fan of him Oderbert played really well against their tiring defence in the last 15 minutes of the game and he actually seemed to make the right decisions for once. Very unlucky not to score and took it to the corner flag when needed at the end of the game

That's fair for last season. But we conceded a lot of goals in the previous season too.
We did which is inevitable with the way we play, but we also scored more. At this stage last season we had scored 6 goals more and conceded 1 goal more.

Today was far from convincing but there were some positives and things to build on. Problem is we've said this a few times and then they go back to square one the next game, so let's hope we can add a little more consistency and the future will look a lot brighter...
