It’s Sanchez’s man Toby was marking Ayew. Moura had had such a good game with his pressing but his lack of nous cost us the situation, ditto winks with the stupid free kick. It’s so frustrating but we do have a crop of players who we seem to need to get away with playing every now again.

Yup, Sanchez just walks away from Benteke leaving him unmarked. These mistakes show repeatedly that we have nobody shouting in the back line for players to mark their man
 
Having watched the replay, I agree it was Sanchez who should have been tighter to Benteke. Toby should have shouted that to him though as he should see the danger from his position.

thats a very good point. He's meant to have a chance of being back on Thurs. Would be a massive lift to have GLC back

If he's covering Benteke then he's in a good position to close the man if he beats ours.

That's not the danger at that point though, it's the cross. He has to deal with the current danger and worry about what may happen if it does.

Sanchez is just standing there, he’s not doing anything -

Toby can’t leave Townsend completely free at the back post.

by the time they all move over the ball would have been crossed.
