***OMT - Spurs vs Liverpool***

I'm watching the game in a Stratford pub full of WHU clams who celebrated both goals like it was them scoring and also singing anti Semitic songs - lovely place to watch the game at
Ah I feel for you. I try not to watch spurs out as I get into trouble by over zealous celebrating or by just being a complete Cnut.

Too many excuses. They have a makeshift centre back pairing, a goalkeeper with no confidence and no specialist protection in front of them. It's all about us. We have been poor all over the park.
Much like City had no specialist protecting their shaky back 4 against us ascend played it's off the park. Similarities with this game?

Think Mcmananan made a good point. Chelsea came to Liverpool and sat back. Didn't need to give them any space. We've seen this last month teams frustrate Liverpool by sitting deep and picking them off. What do we do? Push right up and give Mane the opportunity for two easy goals.

This ones on Poch for me. Naive.

Everton fan at work said we would win easy.

Told him to lump on Liverpool at 23/20, easy money. Told him all the teams that have got results v Pool have sat back, something we wont do, and we would play right into their hands.
Sometimes you have to adapt and cant always play to please

Worst half of football I've EVER SEEN us playing, I'm fuming! Our defence is brick today, Davies and dier aren't good enough! Eriksen is a brick house too! Liverpool have been all over us and it could easily be 5, it's embarrassing and I'd love to know where the fudge our players hunger has gone [emoji35][emoji35][emoji35]

It's not one poor performance. There's a pattern. One I've voiced my concern about repeatedly. It's not even Wanyama, it's the combination of him and Dembele in certain games and game conditions.

they've dominated against far better sides than this

I think you're reaching if you think there's a pattern, what with the small sample size. Done well enough away v Arse/Chelsea and home v Chelsea/City - bad games v City/Liverpool away isn't much to pin anything on

Liverpool looked at their most dangerous with balls over the top exploiting our defense in one v one situations anyway

Reminds me of Dortmund, Monaco, and City games

They are just better than us.

Which really hurts......

We're not mature enough, it seems. We need to be fired up for these games. We're joggin around. Not mature enough. Not hungry enough.

Remember that game here a few years ago, and the players were all luvvy duvey, laughing at joking with their players. No fire or passion that day, and look like we are lacking it again today.
Liverpool could be on a 10-match losing run and we would still lose here

We haven't learned, have we? Still Davies alone against Mane and Clyne having half the pitch to himself.

Think we are still 4 at the back + Dembele/Wanyama DM? Don't think that will get us back in the game. Only difference seems to be that the CB's sat a little deeper - which could end up Mane vs 2. Still rather see 3 CBs at back.

What's the sample size needed to establish that to play though a good high press the ability to play a quick pass and move game in central midfield is decisive?
