OMT Spurs v Athletico

Fuking shambles.

A new manager has to learn - everything we know about the players and squad. That takes time. At least Frank had got a handle on the squad, knew Vicario was the best of the keepers. Had got Xavi playing well and some structure into the side. Thought Tel looked strong and he’s done okay under Tudor tbf. Otherwise why can you say? Fuking shambles!!!

No new manager can save this train wreck, sorry to say it, but we’re going down.

I have supported Spurs for so many years but lately they seem to find new and creative ways to torture me. Its the hope that kills you. At 5-2 down I was thinking if we get 1 more it will at least make the return interesting but I can`t see us turn a 3 goal deficit around next week.
Now dreading the game on Sunday

We've given a good account of ourselves not withstanding the giveaways, but if we had played 4 at the back maybe we don't perform as well as we have. As I said I'm no fan of 3 at the back, I actually hate it philosophically but we can't criticise it today because it has actually worked. We've had our chances, we've played reasonably slick football in moments. The system has not been the failure today.

Now Kinsky for Vicario is again something I would never do, but on this very board loads were arguing that Vicario should be dropped so it happening didn't come out of nowhere. Vicario has been frankly brick this season so dropping him isn't theoretically craziness (well it is if you're other option is Kinsky 🤣).

With regards to what you're saying about a manager who gets the players, I would suggest that Frank was doing that at the start of the season. He saw how poor we are, how much we lack and so setup to compensate for that, but of course we as a fan base didn't like that. So which do you want it to be? A coach who knows, understands and picks based on our strengths and weaknesses or a someone who just plays what he wants regardless of the fit of the players.

Yeah. Drew the game 2-2 other than those two giveaways. One of ours was gifted too, but we had other chances too. Had you said after the 3-0 went in that we'd lose by just 3 I wouldn't have believed it.

But another terrible result, finding new ways to lose even though we thought we'd been through them all. Potentially new important injuries. Feels dreadful despite some of those positive signs.

Think the players showed good fight and mentality, but gifting 3 goals at the start what can you do after that.

What a cheap, low comment. Throwaway but yeah, not really...studs up, nowhere neart ANY ball I can see...

That's literally what was going on. People were complaining that the football wasn't Tottenham football and would be happier with worse results.

We began to play more expansively and got worse.

There was a section of the fan base that never gave the man a chance.

I have alluded to that in the past, I am sure there is something in it. Or was it under that building on the Paxton that held up the build (forget what it was called now), was it a curse??
Surely it has to be. I mean, we've mostly been the creators of our own misfortune, but man have we had a massive share of bad luck too. Nothing surprises me anymore.

Real Madrid attitudes combined with really bricky attitudes, reminiscent of the mess that Pochettino inherited when we had Kaboul, Adebayor and Capoue as our team leaders..

Exactly. In their heads they are world class “Champions of Europe”, and bad results are not their fault but due to X, Y, Z. There’s no accountability.

Need to just focus on football. If you make mistakes hold your hands up and work on it in training. Just keep working harder and things would have improved.

I have made my opinions on Frank very clear. I have also acknowledged that he did not necessarily get the support necessary from those around him. I have also made my opinions very very clear as to the mistake I think was made by the club in the summer with regards to (essentially) brickt ing hard on a trophy win in Europe and finding a spectacular way to suck the life out of the players, club and fanbase by continually telling us how 'shi t' we supposedly are. You say he set up to compensate for things we lacked? I disagree. Defensively solid? Come on. He essentially decided to set us up to play counter attacking football via long balls. If you think that is compensation, then we have very different ideas.

As to the earlier post from someone who bored off about the 'style mob' turning up and complaining early doors, let me be very fu cking clear.
I was TOLD we were being set up to play exciting, attacking, front-foot, daring football.
We were NOT!
Had there been even a DEGREE of honesty, it might've been easier to stomach.

Finally, and again addressed to THAT poster in particular (cannot remember who it was0...;the day I apologise to people like YOU for wanting my football club to continue standing for what they've always stood for is the the day I walk away from football. F uck THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

(I do think that these next 9 games require a win at all costs/methods mentality - like the last four in the EL did last season)

We are saddled with a manager who plays three at the back when it is clear we cannot adapt to it. Look, I get the attraction of the concept, but Tudor must've seen within a game that we don't have the players who can do that, so Igor? Change the fu cking system!!!!
Of course, but equally these players are compounding it by being utter garbage. MVDV put in another shocker of a challenge that he was lucky to get away with, its just not helpful either.
