OMT: European Champions v Brighton - Sunday 25 May

We won the Europa cup, we had a very poor PL season.

Both of those are true. One doesn't cancel out the other.
We had our best season in 17 years
That’s true
We qualified for the CL which was very likely the objective at the beginning of the season
Outside of that there are lots of things that can also be bolted on depending on your view point
Such is life

Absolutely and I am torn, been contrary and am a hypocrite like anyone.

But come on now........lets not make everyone in football right about us as fans.......we aint snobs............are we???

People need to have the summer off......I think its impacted too many at a mental level IMO

I am taking my own advise, I have cancer screening this week, my old man is in the grasp of dementia and so this is my last post of the summer or for a few weeks........

Up the Spurs........thank fcuk its not my decision to make on the manager

And if I die tomorrow I die happy.......not because of Brighton at home a few days after the EL cup.

Love to you all.............
Hope it all goes well.

They don't want to ignore it, they want to belittle it.
Even stranger.
Yep
Had a mate who I was with in the ground on Wednesday say

“Lovely. Now sack Ange and get a manager who knows how to manage in the Premier league…. “

Short short short memories, or just people that think we should only focus on one thing

Our league campaign was unacceptably poor, and there are plenty question marks about our system and style of play. Getting hammered at home by Brighton on the last day, however expected it was, was not a good look. Am I confident Ange will be able to turn it around next season? No.

What I do know is that the Europa league win was one of the most memorable and enjoyable moments of my 34 years supporting Spurs. I will remember and cherish that experience forever. That matters so much more to me than dwelling on a poor league campaign, which will be forgotten soon enough. (who remembers our league position in 2008?)

I'll take this season over a 5th place finish and no trophies every day of the week.

Bur that doesn’t mean I don't want or expect us to do better in the league next season. With Ange or without.

I remember the 84 Cup final, was a terrible game with a scrappy goal, nobody remembers it like that.
I certainly don't, it's the best sporting memory of my life and all those kids crying their eyes out at the stadium on Wednesday night will never forget that night, all they will remember is the euphoria of winning.

Nope
So fudging enjoy that hit and stop talking about sacking the guy who made the record

I Can enjoy that hit, but I hope we don't just enjoy that hit for the next 17 or more years and be ignored any issues we have.

For me, we now need to start looking at next season. Especially since there has been a huge question mark over Ange this season.

Can he balance a league campaign, and some cup runs? Or what's the focus next season?

Levy has already come out and said that we should be building on this, not sitting back listening to old records.

We need to keep moving forward, and the decision will need to be if Ange is the right person or not to do that.

It's mystifying.

What message will we send to managers if we sack the guy who ran the gauntlet to win us something, for some bloke whose qualification is that he's good at treading water in the Premier League?

The message is, 4th-6th place will save you. Winning something will not.

Why would we then expect *anyone* to try to do what Postecoglou did, ever again? They'll just tread water in the league, because it keeps them safe.

Postecoglou gave us the moment we have been begging for, for 17 fudging years. And we'd bin him for someone like Iraola, who's at best a marginally better version of him, without the trophy?

Yes, league form needs to improve. No question. But there is such a thing as soul in football. We found ours after 17 years in the wilderness. For those who want a change, don't be so quick to throw it away again.

I’s like a hit every 2/3 years
I’d take that over getting 4th and having the odd memorable game

Terrible lap of honour or whatever they were calling it. First half it was just the players then it wasn’t just kids and partners every players seemed to have 5/6 people join. Meant to be to appreciate the players. More non players than players by the time they got to the south stand.

And churn out the same diatribe
almost as if an armchair fan really does know best
And i say that as someone who has been saying today on our travel back from Bilbao that he can’t stay because of his league form.

Scratching my head at this one...

The league form shouldn’t even have the word form attached because it’s not even form …
But when you do something w recent done since I had hair
Come on guys
I was stood there on Wednesday night with two father and sons (one in front and one next to me)
Their reaction was not what I see at every league game … and I’ve been to about a 700 I reckon
It was similar to the city CL quarter but that didn’t last as long
It was an atmosphere like we had when we played Arsenal under conte (but without the rage)
When the club is united, fudge me its powerful
Right now its not the time to discuss Anges exit imo
Hell the plan may be to let him do his 3 years and then bring in poch which would suit some people I’m sure

Our open play....is a general concern.i just don't see how it gets any different next season

Romero, Maddison, Kulusevski are three strong reasons. Add some proper CL quality signings, and the development this season of Bergvall and Gray -both of whom are absolutely ready and fully broken in now- and hopefully the possible picture gets clearer.
